My side by side AEG santo fridge has stoppoed making ice since yesterday- ice is there but the fridge mechanism is not moving the ice cubes to the ice dispenser- what could be wrong
The trouble is coming from eithier the micron switch located at the backof the paddle,or the auger motor. It is the motor that rotates when you press the cube dispenser lever located at the back portion of the icebucket,it might got stucked.or its winding is open Try to hve a check ,first open the freezer door, pull out the icebucket, look fr the light switch then maintain the door open, use your right hand in pressing the switch to simulate a closed door position, next use your left hand to press the cube dispenser lever, if the auger motor rotates and you heard a humming sound, it means it is only your ice cubes that sticked together preventing the motor to rotate freely,or there is something wrong with your bucket only,if your hear humming sound only, the auger motor is stuck up, unplug the unit, removed all the screws securing the bracket, disconnect the wiring connector, pull out it out,try to thaw the froozen motor if it is still stuck, wait a longer more or try to apply wd40 oil in between the entangled rotor and core, lubricte. If you hear nothing the winding might be open or there is no supply to the motor., point of check- micron switch- check for continuity, wiring leading to it and the line goin out to cabinet/inside, check the main connector to the bucket area for corrosion or accumulated dirts, And lastly if you are not confident enough to do the job sir better to calla qualified technican to do the troubleshooting sir, safety is our first priority.
