Insignia NS-LCD32 - 32" 720p Flat-Panel LCD Turns itself off, resets, then turns back on
We bought a Insignia NS-LCD32 - 32" 720p Flat-Panel LCD TV last november of 2007. It is a best buy house brand TV, and we weren't sure about the quality. Now, a few months later the TV is having a problem where it resets itself at random intervals. Basically you'll be watching the TV, and out of nowhere it turns itself off, resets, and then turns back on. This could happen several times while you're watching TV, or not at all.
This has happened several times (7-10 times in the last 2 weeks?) but doesn't happen every time we turn the tv on. My wife thinks that the last few times it has happened the same exact Qwest commercial was playing.
Do you think that there is something physically wrong with the TV, and if so - what?
Or
Do you think that something about a particular Qwest commercial is causing the TV to reset? Has anyone ever heard of something like this happening before?
The problem has happened again, 3 more times. We have now confirmed that the TV turns off every time a certain qwest commercial comes on the TV. We are in the Twin Cities, MN market. Ok, Best buy support techs said it was probably a power supply. They replaced that, but the problem keeps happening, still turning itself off during a specific Qwest supermarket 'bundle your services' tv commercial - always at the same exact spot.
I guess this is a livable problem as it only happens during this exact commercial. Any ideas what about this certain commercial might be causing this problem? that"s very difficult thing without any test by multimeter & just look at it yes you right no any physically damage at least . maybe power supply working fine. maybe done gone in already.you need a technician for troubleshoot it.
There is not an external reset button on this TV. To reset to factory defaults, enter the onscreen menu system and highlight the OPTION icon using the arrow keys. On the resulting screen, select "Restore Default." I would also recommend power-cycling (turn the TV off and unplug for several minutes) as part of your reset procedure. Additional details can be found in the owner's manual.
most manafactors codes are 1234 or 0000 or 5555 or 8888 you might have to put extra didget on EG 12345 -00000 - 55555 -88888 but if you changed it sorry dont know
The problem is most likely the fuse connected to the power wires. You have to take apart the TV and follow the power wire to the fuse. Fuse number is T4AL/ 250v. It will be labeled above the fuse. We had the same problem. Also, check to see if the metal around the tops and bottoms of fuse are loose.
The way we fixed it was to wrap aluminum foil around the fuse and put it back in. It is only a temporary fix until we can get a fuse. Hope this helps.
