Oven stops working and display screen goes blank

Frigidaire FGF366ESD gas oven stops working when baking. The display screen goes blank but the light in the oven will still come on and the range still works. After a couple of minutes the screen will come back on and you are able to set the temp. and begin to bake again. It will work fine for a while and then go off again.

Hello The control has developed faults in one or more of it's circuits. This clock/timer must be replaced to solve the problem. The Good news is that this is not one of the really expensive controls. Found this one for about 70$ at a website. Worth fixing- but beware the 'self-clean' function after repair, and this control should last a lot longer.  Please acknowledge this post if info helps- have more if needed- Thanks- Ed

Frigidaire stuck in DR mode

Good Morning ShawnR, thank you for your post!

An error code DR commonly refers to a door lock malfunction. I understand you have reprogrammed the range by unplugging it. It is important to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn your range back on. Typically, this will clear most false error codes. If the error code continues to display, your range could possibly have a faulty door latch, light switch or EOC (electronic oven control). I am fairly confident that an authorized service agent will be able to restore your appliance to its normal operating condition. You can often locate a qualified service technician on the manufacturer website.

Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to assist you!

Oven will not light. it is a frigidaire model #

When the bake igniter becomes weak or burns out, your oven will not bake. The bake igniter is usually mounted on the oven burner. It's about 1 inch by 4-8 inches (depending on the model), and comes in round or flat styles. If you don't see the igniter glow at all, it's probably burned out. Replace the igniter if found defective. Note: one of the exceptions could be that your oven is set to automatic mode instead of manual. If this is the case, set your oven to manual mode and check again.

If the bake igniter glows red and not bright yellow or white, it is probably because it is too weak. When this happens, the safety valve will not let the gas out into the oven burner. A weak igniter must be replaced.

A faulty igniter is probably the most common cause, however there are others:

  1. Defective thermostat
  2. Defective selector switch
  3. Defective gas safety valve
  4. Defective gas valve coils

Oven Problem

Check power going to the electronic module in back of the display. If power there you have a blown module. If no power check for a blown thermal fuze.
