When I turn on my oven it takes 20 minutes or more for the oven to turn on. My oven just says Magic Chef, it doesn't have any numbers after it.

It is probably your oven igniter, I just replace mine on 3-20-10. It glowed but wasn't sending the proper amp draw to open the oven bake valve. If it is the flat style the part number should be 12400035.

If the oven has an elctrical ignition, it may have to be replaced, this unit is shaped cynlindrical or square and mounts to the side of the ovens burner. This along with the gas release valve make the oven gas flow through the burner.

Magic Chef microwave model#mco165ub cant seem to turn up the power level. when I hit the power level button it cycles through -20, 0 and +20 but nothing happens when I hit enter.
Try unplugging the unit for a few minutes. The microprocessor on the control panel may have locked up. Leave it unplugged for at least 15 minutes to see if it will reset.

MY MAGIC CHEF, CONCEPT SERIES, W/MAGIC CONTROL CENTER DOESN'T LIGHT.
I have a Magic Chief Concept Series oven - Replaced the Thermo-coupler and the control switch. I now have a pilot light but the thermo-coupler doesn't get hot enough to light the burner, But if I take a lighter and put it on the thermo-coupler it will but when I take if off it shuts off after a few seconds. I have a magic chef ovan/mic unit, when I press the bake option and set the temp the igniter goes on but the gas does not kick in. model # 54FN-5TKVWM
even though the ignitor glows it doesn't mean it's good it opens the gas valve by amps not just because it glows,if you turn on the stove and when you see it glow if the flame doesn't ignite within 40 to 50 seconds you have a bad ignitor.if you leave it alone for a few minutes does the flame ignite?the only other thing it could be is a bad gas valve but most likely it will be the ignitor

On many Magic Chef models, press the Help button to bring up the menu. Choose the number for Child Lock (I think it's #1), then choose 2 to turn Child Lock off.

I have an early 70's Magic Chef series VI oven/stove. The stove works fine. The oven takes about 30 minutes to light. When oven knob is turned pilot works fine. There is no gas odor before the oven lights.
My model is a UA119A-2W and I cannot find a place to light the oven pilot. Nor can I find a copy of the owner's manual anywhere online. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I don't have the model number for this range but it's a very old magic chef gas oven. What I need is the oven temperature knob. The knob used to have all of the temperature numbers printed on it however...
If you go any hardware store (Lowe's, Home Depot) they have universal knob replacement kits. Take your old knob with you and ask for help from someone who looks like they know something (the old guy). Its so much cheaper this way, exact replacement knobs can run $20 or more each. Good luck!!

Get too much of a gas smell when Magic Chef oven prheats up.
gas does NOT take that long to heat up!!
Shut that thing off before you kill your family !!!
Take it back or call someone to fix it !
This is a ticking bomb you have,...
If You smell gas then you should call the city or 911 .
