Problems with pioneer avic d3

There are a few things that could be wrong.

Check all of your connections, due to the extreme heat and cold, the wires surprisingly are able to move quite a bit. This may trigger any loose power wires to disconnect from their points.

Make sure EVERY wire is properly crimped/tied down.

You also may want to check for any corrosion at your points.

Also there are a few shops out there that forget to scrape/sand off the paint to show the bare metal before connecting the ground.

Check your ground wire/harness that comes from the battery, if the wires are old the insulation may crack and cause a short to ground causing your electronics to not work until you restart it a few times.

the d3 will play dvds, and you can buy a cd changer for it seperately.

Write to Pioneer with Model number & serial number with a letter of explanation and they will respond with the code.

make sure your phone is in discovery mode so it can be seen by bluethooth device, I had the same problem with my lg voyager

I had the same problem when purchasing mine open box from CircuitCity. But this is how you do it. Pass it on.

While the unit is turned on, press and hold "MENU" and "Back (Track Left)" buttons simultaneously. Next, push and release reset button. Continue to hold "MENU" and "Back (track left)" until the unit reboots.

Do you have an ipod module or are you using ibus-to-rca cable to connect your ipod to the D3? In order to control full ipod functions by touch screen you need the ipod module, hence the D3 says ipod control ready not ipod control built in. Let me know so I can pin point the problem.

Check to see if you have enough current to your unit. The best way to check is to take it out and bench test it. Most unit will shut down and try to start up when the current to it is lower than the minimum requirement. Goodluck.

Can you be more specific like what are you pairing your D3 with, and when you turn down the volume? The volume of the D3 or the pairing device? More info would be helpful.
