Motherboard replacement I put together a computer awhile back, with the XFX MIA78S8209 AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 8200 HDMI Micro ATX AMD motherboard. From what I've read, I'm going to have to replace it. Keep getting d5 message, and try all the solutions posted. I want to replace it, but I'm not sure what the best motherboard to replace it with would be. I'm quite sure it's an AMD 2+ PCU and I'm using DDR2 667. Right now it's a Micro ATX. Do I have to get another Micro ATX Motherboard? Or could I use a regular ATX. I can't be sure if the case is only set for Micro ATX and don't know how to find out. Thanks

What is a compatible replacement for a m2n78-la motherboard

This motherboard's full name is ASUS M2N78-LA and also used from HP/Compaq with the name: Viola-GL8E. A good replacement solution for this board is Zotac GF8200-C-E GeForce 8200-ITX WiFi AM2 DDR2-1066 (about 130$). Here are some links for this board: from Nvidia for specs and from Amazon. Take care that the original board is micro ATX factor and the suggested one is ATX factor, so you may have to check the available space in the tower.

GIGABYTE GA-M61SME-S2 AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard Will not post, tried clearing CMOS, moved memory chips around. Still does not post.

Is this a new board? Check the processor to make sure that it is seated properly. You will have to remove the fan and heatsink, but if you put the processor in yourself, it is possible that it didn't seat properly.
