WNR3500 is installed and already working wirelessly with numerous items in the house (laptop, iPods, PS3). However, I cannot get my Compaq 6910p communicating with it whatsoever (except via Cat5 connection). I travel weekly, so connecting with wifi devices should not be a problem for me. However, when I attempt to connect to the router/SSID, it comes with a (never seen before) wifi setup wizzard, which asks for the SSID / device ownership password - which I provided. It then communicates with 3500 to get correct SSID / security (WPA2 Personal AES-CCMP) / and password-key. I then get the response "Failed to get the wireless settings". With the hundreds of other routers I've connected to, I simply click on SSID and plug in the encryption key. Can anyone help?
Many thanks, and Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Todd
Which operating system, you are using
need to reconfigure wireless(only if you have vista or windows7 O/S)
1. Open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
2. Access the router, usually by typing http://192.168.0.1' or http://www.routerlogin.com' in the address bar.
3. Login to the router with the Username as "admin" and Password as "password" (please note that the Username and Password are case sensitive).
4. Click on Wireless Settings'(under Setup) from the left menu.
5. changed SSID and also changed security key
6. than try to reconnect again again from your laptop
