Yahoo mail will not open. Instead it creates a tab on top of the page. Any suggestions?

Create the menu tab on your homepage right click in the top toolbar you should see a number of toolbar options select the menu tab which will add File Edit View Favorites Tools and Help

Open a web page sign in to your yahoo email account
right click in yahoo select add to favorites this will add yahoo email to favorites for access from the favorites drop down list.

Any of these ways will put a Yahoo! Mail shortcut icon on your desktop. If you want another Yahoo! shortcut instead of Yahoo! Mail, just substitute that Yahoo! page for Yahoo! Mail in the instructions.

To put a Yahoo! Mail shortcut icon on your desktop, go to Yahoo! Mail page http://www.mail.yahoo.com/ , at the top of your screen click File, a menu drops down, put your mouse cursor on Send, a menu pops up, click Shortcut to Desktop.

Another way: Go to Yahoo! Mail page, right click on a blank space, a menu pops up, click Create Shortcut, a pop up asks "Do you want to put a shortcut to this website on your desktop", click Yes.

Another way: If it is listed in All Programs: Click Start > All Programs > right click on Yahoo! Mail > point to Send To and on the menu that pops up click Desktop ( create shortcut ).

Another way: Right click on desktop > point to New and on the menu that pops up click Shortcut > in the box that opens type http://www.mail.yahoo.com/ > click Next and in the next box that opens type Yahoo! Mail and click Finish.

Another way: Go to Yahoo! Mail Page > left click and hold on the blue bar at the top of your browser window and pull down far enough to expose the desktop, or drag one side in or the bottom up far enough to expose the desktop (if it won't move, click the box beside the X at the top right corner of the screen to Restore Down) > left click and hold on the icon on the left of the address on the address bar and drag it to the desktop and release it, then you can minimize the window and left click on the icon and hold and drag it to where you want it on your desktop.

2) Click on Tools
3) Click on Internet Options
4) Click on the Security Tab
5) Click on the Custom Level button
6) Under the Miscellaneous section look for "Display Mixed Content"
7) Click on Disable for Display Mixed Content instead of Prompt
8) Click on OK twice
9) Close Internet Explorer and reopen
10) Open the webpage that was displaying the warning message, the message should not appear now.

On the opening page on the top left corner you will an icon in the shape of an envelope saying mail click that icon. The opening page will have two phrases "Sign In" and "Sign Up". Click Sign Up and you will directed to a page where you will have to feed in your private information in order to create an email account. Once you fill up the form, which is very easy I suggest that you note down the email user name and the password you choose before clicking the "submit" button. After the form is accepted. On the opening page give the noted User name and password and click Sign In your email page will open. On the upper left corner click "NEW" an interface will open where you give the email address of the persons you want to send to in the field next to tab that says " To". If there is someone you also want to inform regarding the subject of the email. You can use the empty field with the tab that says "CC". Put the subject or the topic of your mail
and fill the empty box can be used to construct the body of the email. When you finish typing your email click the "Send" button the top. your email will definitely be sent.

i am signed into my yahoo mail, the tab says i have 2 unread messages, but the page is blank, how do i fix this?

Instead of entering your account at your Yahoo home page go directly to the log-in page at: <https://login.yahoo.com/config/login>
If you still have problems delete all cookies from your browser and see if that works, if not contact Yahoo Customer Support for homepage problems at <http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/homepage/troubleshooting/>

go to "tools" on the top left and then click "internet options" and switch your home page from yahoo to something else
it should say "to create home page tabs,type each address on its own line" and right there you will see an address
ex:www.yahoo.com switch it to www.google ofcourse only if you want that homepage then click "apply" i hope this helps...

1st, try clearing your cookies - Corrupt cookies can create lots of mischievious problems.
2nd, - Try the tab on top to open just the Inbox, and see if that works, instead of clicking on your mail Inbox icon
