I got a westinghouse 32 in 720p flat screen and it works great most of the time but if we leave it off for longer than an hour or so when we turn it on the screen is half black and the bottom of the screen has color lines. If we turn it on and off 10 times if works perfectly again. What could be wrong. Its an 08. only 2 yrs old!!!

This can be on the matrix drive board, or the display assembly itself. It is possible to also have a defect in the address decoding area that will cause this.
The procedure is to swap out the suspect boards to determine where the fault is, leave the working boards in the set, and then follow up any necessary calibrations that are necessary.

there is a defected capacitor in the vertical circuit trouble shoot and replace. or if the vertical circuit is separate then replace the whole board.good luck

> IF IT WASNT DIGITAL HD I WOULD HAVE SUSPECTED HIGH VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY BUT THAT DOES NOT EXIST HERE.
Well, not completely true; the fluorescent backlight is still a high voltage device, even if only hundreds of volts instead of kilovolts, and either the lamp(s) or the power supply for it (them) is causing the dropout of your picture.
When it does it next time, look at the screen from various angles, I think you will see that video content is still there.
