For the recognition problem, you could try resetting the unit. There should be a reset button on the back of the unit. To reset the unit, press and hold the reset button for about 5 seconds.
If the computer still won't give you full access to the Walkman, you can try the recognition solution posted on WarMaiden.org.
For the charging problem, inspect the USB cable to see if there are any frays in it, then try carefully reseating both ends of the cable (one side to the computer and the other to the unit itself). If it still won't charge, I would recommend exchanging it at your retailer.

My ipod not recognized by itunes in order to reinstall the software

Connections b> The USB cable must be securely connected both to the iPod and to the selected USB port on the computer. Reattach the cable at both ends, and click "Computer" in the start menu to see if the iPod is shown connected to the drive for that USB port. b> Drivers b> If the drivers of the computer responsible for the USB interface are out of date, malfunctioning or incorrectly installed, that may also cause the iPod to not be recognized by the computer. If this is the case, the device may not appear in iTunes and there may be an exclamation point next to the device in Device Manager. b> Software b> The latest version of iTunes is recommended to best communicate with the various models of iPod. Go to the iTunes website or click "Help" and "Check for Updates" in iTunes to install the most recent update. Further, the computer must be running Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 for PCs, or OS X v.10.4.11 or later for Macs. b> Battery b> The iPod's battery must have sufficient charge to be recognized in iTunes; charge it either via USB connection or another power source if the indicator shows a low battery. Once the battery has charged, try to connect the iPod to the computer via USB cable again.

You either have one of the following:
1. Bad Battery
2. Wrong adapter - yours no comprende w/ unit.
3. Cracked Jack - means you've got to get a tech to take the unit apart and replace it. $150-200
4. Goto your device manager, double click bat., then right mouse click on acpi driver and update it. Hopefully that works.

BATTERY DOES NOT CHARGE Received a "Vivitar T328" camera yesterday. Inserted the supplied battery and a new memory card into the camera and connected the camera via "USB" cable to the supplied charger....

How old is the battery? If the battery is refurbished or old it might just not charge anymore.

Also, do you have a separate charger for the battery? Many cameras do and that is how they charge, not when the battery is still in the camera.

Hello, I just received my mini KA08 yesterday, I can not get either battery to charge. the wall plug that comes with it only stays red. the computer usb will not even recognize the phone...

Red means that is charging, green means that is fully charge. When you connect the phone to the computer and it doesn't recognize the device as Mass Storage Device, then just restart the computer, it should come up with two device recognized, one for the memory card and the other one for the phone. Some phones require that you choose which function to use while you connect to the computer, just tap Mass Storage.

For it to recongnize, maybe try:
1: go to control panel
2:add hardware
3:connect your hardware device and click "yes i have connected the hardware"
4:scroll down and select install new hardware device
5:select install hardware that i manually select from a list
6:scroll down to windows portable devices
7:and choose MTP device
this should make it so your ipod is now recognised by the computer

Unable to charge unit (brand new)

Hello,

Are you on a laptop? Only possible issue is that with laptops, most have a feature which disables the power on the USB ports if not used frequently..besides that, if you plug the unit into the USB port, it should charge, if not, you have a faulty battery.

Coby accepts gifts for warranty, they just need a letter head showing you received it as a gift and they will replace the unit, see below for requirements:

What you need to send:

$6 Money Order -Made out to 'Coby Electronics' 'return shipping fee'
Letterhead showing you received unit as a gift
Note with your name, address, phone#, description of issue
Unit with all the accessories

Send to:

Acer Travelmate 270 - battery problem?

IT sounds like your laptop or powersupply/charger is at fault. Try to use a different charger, and if possible use your battery in a different computer. That way you can narrow down where the problem is. It might ba a faulty connection where the charger is connected to your computer. To check this out, try running the computer on AC without the battery installed. If it suddenly shuts off it's a problem with your powersupply or possibly the connection plug in the cimputer.
