New Bread Maker, pan will not come out

I have reviewed the solutions on this site, but my problem is when I try to turn with the handle, nothing turns....I am afraid I will bend the handle if I turn too hard. There are metal clips holding the pan in place, is this normal?

    the manual says to grasp the handle of the pan, twist and pull straight up,it won't come out;is there holding clips holding it in for shipping ?

The metal clips in my bread machine are just to hold it steady. You should pull the pan straight up.
When I take the loaf out of the pan after it has baked, I take the pan out and then set it on its side and wiggle the the thing on the bottom that makes the paddle turn loosen the paddle. Then I tip the pan over and holding the pan by the bottom and the handle, I dump the loaf out onto a kitchen towel to allow the bread to cool. It is recommended to allow the bread to cool for a few minutes for easier removal, but if the bread stays in the pan too long, it makes the crust soggy.

I cannot get my bread pan out of the bread maker, no matter how I try to lift it! The instructions say to tilt it to the left and then pull- which did not work then I followed the suggestion of lifting it...

Most bread machines are held in by 2 little spring clips...one on each side.

They are under tension when the pan is in the oven and that is how it stays stable when kneading is taking place. So to get it out you have to release that tension and that is going take what I call the stern "pop". Grab the handle of the pan right in the center with both hands and put a little slack in it by lowering the handle down about an inch and then "pop" it straight up the little clips will release ther hold on your pan......magic!!

Hi, those function as little spring clips to hold your pan in. There is no twisting of the pan with your new machine. Just pull straight up with a little "pop" (use both hands and just pop up on the handle) and your pan will pop out. When you bake your first loaf just push the pan straight down until the pan clicks back into place under the little clips and you are ready to bake!

Here is a quick pdf scan of the manual for a White-Westinghouse Model WWTR444A brad machine.

I didn't take great care in tweaking the scan. Some pages may have the edge cropped but all pertinent information should be discernible.

Taking the baking pan out of the machine

Hi omaopahupps,

Check out the Oster Breadmaker FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) at

They talk about this near the end. Here is a partial copy of their response.
======================================================================

To get the pan out of the breadmaker, please follow these steps:
  1. Make sure breadmaker and pan is cool. If it is warm, please use an oven mitt.
  2. Grasp the handle of the bread pan and pull straight up or if your pan twists, twist pan clockwise and pull up. You may find a little force is needed to get the pan out.

If this solves the issue, please rate it accordingly.
