Take the computer to a Toshiba Certified Service Center to have the password reset or erased. You may have to show proof of ownership.

Despite your obnoxious rating, the answer is spot on.

The computer cannot decide of its own wicked will to setup a password to prevent its rightful owner from using it.

If it is your computer and, as sometimes happens, you forgot your password, you should not have any problem taking the unit to a certified service center and ask for the password to be reset. If you are registered with Toshiba that will show on their computers. Laptops are a very frequent target of thefts and the bios pasword is just one small way to thwart thefts. There are others.

Nothing prevents you from searching the web to find the information you seek. It aint available on FixYa.

Here is a guide toremove windows passwordwith Windows Password Recovery Tool Professional from http://www.windowspasswordsrecovery.com/Step1: Download and install Windows Password Recovery Tool.
Step2: Burn CD/DVD/USB Flash Drive. (Namely it is to burn a Windows password reset disk.)
Step3: Set the target computer boot from CD/DVD or USB.
Step4:Remove the forgotten Windows passwordwith the burned CD/DVD/USB. Then log on to Windows without a password.
Of course, you can also finish Windows password remover if you have a password reset disk in advance. That's also an easy solution.

I know some methods to reset bios password.
1. The best and easiest method: Close OS and shut down the electricity power of computer. Open your computer box, take out the cmos battery from the mainboard. Then the bios password will be reset to blank. Put it back after a few minutes.
2. Follow some hard tutorials, it is difficult to do. It is better that you are a expert. For example this tutorial: reset BIOS Password?

Hi!! Usually GATEWAY passwords are storedin eeprom memories that has to be read or writen to remove / bypass the BIOS password!!! Password generate a hash code that will appear after 3 wrong password attempts and it has a 5 digit decimal format "xxxxx" You can get the hash code by pressing F2 or F10 when you turn on the laptop to enter Bios and then when password prompt appears hit F12 to get the hash code. I got My Gateway Bios password Unlocked at http://www.laptoprebirth.com They can calculate a master password with the hash code. Hope it helps
