Hi, Dell Studio 1535 cooler always starts, even if the system is not warm up. Plus mouse and keyboard work slowly. shut down computer, wait (2h.), but still the same. Checks the system load and temperature - all the norm. What happened?

Hi,
Try running the diagnostics on the computer to check if all the hardware is working fine. The diagnostics would take atleast 2 hrs to complete but would do a through check for the same. I have come accross the same issue on the said laptop and we have ended up replacing the system fan for the same.

To run the diagontics
1. Shut down the system
2. Press and hold the FN key on the keyboard and press the power button to start the system
3. Follow the screen prompts to run the diagnostics.

Note and post back any error codes if any

Dell Studio 1737 --power button is broken. Is there another way to power it on?

friends ... i discovered a way that you can power on the dell studio 1535 easily ...

first of all you know the power button .. it's now working ( or stuck )
in the other side of the labtop, there's a wifi button, when the labtop is already shutten down, you can press it and it will give a light then shuts down the light in the button, that means that it gives power, now to complete the process you should know the touch button in the left side that means Dell MediaDirect ( touch control button of the dell studio ) ..

ok, Now, do exactly what i'm telling you :)

1- when the computer is shutten down, plz press the wifi detector button one press
2- it will give a light then shuts then gives light again for a longer time.
3- when giving the first light for a short time, do not wait, press the media touch button quickly, continuesly and separetly.
it it doesn't work ... try it for many times tell you know when exactly to press the media touch button

then you'll see that the labtop starts as if it was in sleep :)
thanks :)

Help i have a dell inspiron 530s and all of a sudden my keyboard and mouse do not work on when the logo of windows comes on in start up nor the mouse or keyboard work but my keyboard works on f2 and f8...

Try restoring your system bios to factory default and this may fix your problem. If not- post again with results and we'll go from there.

Entering System Setup

Turn on your computer.

When the blue DELL logo is displayed watch for the F2 prompt to appear (black screen / white text).

Once this F2 prompt appears, immdiately press F2 .

The F2 prompt indicates that the keyboard has initialized and is detected. This prompt can appear very quickly. Watch for it to display as the screen powers up, and then press F2. If you press F2 before you are prompted, this keystroke will be lost. There is a small window of time to do this before Windows starts.
If you wait too long and the operating system logo appears, continue to wait until you see the Microsoft Windows desktop. Then, shut down your computer and try again to enter setup. At setup check your bios version. It may need to be flashed (upgraded). Select load factory defaults to see if that will resolve your PCI issues.

I have a Dell 8400 with a wired keyboard and wireless mouse. My computer went into Save Mode and my flatscreen monitor says to press any key on the keyboard or move the mouse to restart. When I do this...

try shutting down, remove power cable, remove memory chips, remove battery on motherboard(coin battery). remove grpahics card from slot(if its the kind you can remove). Now wait 10-15 sec then put in the graphics card, the batter, the memory sticks and close the case plug in the power cable and see if this works!

My Dell 1535 Studio Touch pad has stopped working and my key board also has been having problems. The key board does not continue to scroll over when I hold down the arrow keys and some of the keys do not...

try to boot in safe mode first. turn on computer then keep tapping on F8 then boot to safe mode. once you booted in safe mode try to open notepad and word check if all keys working. if yes then try system restore it might be some conflict when in normal mode. if keys same problem in safe mode then try last known good configuration if still having the same problem with normal mode then try booting to F8 safe mode with networking. download the latest toucpad drivers and the latest bios for your system. install all downloaded updates then boot back to normal mode after. check if still the same problem. if yes then try to do system restore to the previous state when laptop keys was working fine. if all fails try to re-install the OS. if fails then have your touchpad, keyboard and palmrest replaced. (Note: when troubleshooting make sure you are using an external mouse and keyboard thru USB)

Keyboard on my Dell studio 15 is locked

Use your touchpad or mouse to save all open documents and close all programs. Shut down the computer. Be sure to click "Turn Off" instead of "Restart."

Unplug your Dell Inspiron 2600 and close the lid.
Carefully turn the laptop over. Remove the battery. The battery has a sliding latch and lock. Unlock the battery by sliding the lock to the unlock position. Slide the latch and remove the battery when the left edge pops up.

Wait one minute and replace the battery. Slide the lock back into the locked position.

Connect your adapter and restart your system.
