Screen goes blank intermittently on 60in Sony Bravia KDS-60A3000

While watching the television the screen will go blank for about 60 seconds, and then come back on. When the screen is black the green power light on the front flashes. This problem will sometimes occur every 5 minutes or so, but other times I can watch a movie and it won't happen. I thin this TV was purchased in Winter 2006 from Circuit City. The extended two year warranty was purchased, it has expired. The warranty company will not offer any additional warranty purchase options on this TV. Any ideas on what the problem is, how to fix it, or other options I may have? Thank you.

I am having the same problem with my Sony. I bought it at Circuit City in November 2007 and the extended warranty, which I thought was for 4 years, has expired. Has anyone else had this problem, and how did you resolve it?

How do I change the projection lamp for my sony kds 60A3000 60in tv?

remove the front panel below the tv screen. Look for a small door with a single screw. Remove the door and slide out the old bulb. Install the new bulb and reverse the steps!

My sony bravia kds-60a3000 loses picture, power button blinks, sound continues to work. The picture comes back on after an interval, then the cycle repeats. What is causing this?

Hi,
Let your unit cool down for an hour, give proper ventilation and air flow. keep away all the obstruction from the vent, the processor has a built in thermal sensor that might be trigger by peak temp on the main board.
Hope it may help you.
Have a nice day.
Thanks for using Fixya.

Picture flickers on Sony HDTV

Hi,It seems your ballast(board that powers light bulb) is going weak. The ballast was used to provide a lower voltage because lamp didn't use as much as brand new one. A newer one takes more voltage and when ballast doesn't provide as much power it will flicker or produce a dimmer image.I found the one for your tv here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/1091041-KDS-60A3000-p/1091041.htm?Click=48173 Good luck and God bless you!
