How to repair a ps2 that is not showing on tv set

Sounds like you have a composite AV cable - at TV end that would be 3 phono leads red/yellow/white. Set the TV audio visual to CMP for composite!

Try it on another monitor / tv - if the problem happens there also, send the playstation in for warranty repairs or service.

most likely a fault in the video circuits, or possibly bad cable, you could try another cable first.

This is could be two problems 1 the cords 2 the connections
try putting a new set of cords if that dont work you have a bad connector on the tv or on the ps2 also try hooking up with av cables and hdmi cables/

please check the wiring maybe it is defective just replace the rca chord it can be cut off in the inner part and it has a plarity just follow the polarity, good day

Make sure that you have the plugs in the correct sockets on the back of the television , as well as make sure the tv is on the correct setting, NTSC, PAL, SECAM, etc. Good luck.

I have only seen this when the PS2 slim has been modded. What I do when this happens is hook the PS2 slim to a HD TV. This clears up the color. The modchip seems to drain the video power low enough that the normal TV with composite connection cannot resolve the signal. The only way to repair this is to get a new motherboard that is not modchipped. IF it is not modded, you still need a new motherbaord. Buy a broken will not read discs PS2 slim with that is NTSC or PAL whichever you use. Exchange the motherboards. You also need to be sure the Broken PS2 slim will boot up, and possibly read CD's but not Games.

my playstation2 says please insert a ps2 or ps format disc and there IS a cd

unhook the cable box from the tv and hook that cable into the ant in on the modulator and run the output of the modulator to the tv.set the modulator and tv on channel 3.you may have to turn off the cable box to play ps2.please give me a rating if this was helpful,if you need more help just ask

try to trouble shoot if the wire is the problem, how? remove the 3 colored wires from the tv and ps2 then try to use the red color instead of yellow to the video from tv and ps2 (both red) temporarily do not use the yellow color. once a picture appears use now the white for the audio (both white) for left audio once there is a sound you may try the yellow for the right audio. i hope this will help you and hear a positve reply from you.

you can play your PS2 via the RF in (ANT IN ) at the back of your TV .
For this you will first have to connect a AUX to RF converter jack device to ANT IN jack of TV.
Then determine the OUTPUT CHANNEL of the PS2.
(Channels-1 to 12 is in VHF band
channels-21 to 69 -UHF band)
Put the PS2 "ON"
TUNE the TV set to the frequency of PS2.
