I can't seem to use downloaded music as a ringtone. I have gone through all the hoops, download the song off memory card to phone. it appears in the "sounds" file, but if you click on it as any other sound available it does not have the (apply to) option as the rest? whats the deal neal? Thats the only real reason I got the stupid card, so I didn't spend $90.00 on ringtones!
it seems we cannot apply ringtones in MP3 format to our phones , what I do is record the ringtone with the voice record option then I apply as ringtone .I agree for the price of this phone and with an added memory card we should be able to apply anything for a ringtone !!! In the app that lets you play music, find your song. press and hold the song you want. hit set as, then tap phone ringtone. if it's not there, make sure the file is under the music folder on your SD card or device memory.
if your phone has a memory card..you can...what do you want an mp3 songs that you will make it as ringtone on your phone?just download mp3 songs to website and save it on your memory card..
To change the ringtone press MENU, and then tap Settings. Tap Personalize > Default ringtone. The Phone ringtone selection menu then opens and you can scroll through the available ringtones and tap the ringtone you want to use then tap OK. Ringtones or songs downloaded or copied to your storage card are not automatically added to the ringtone selection menu. You need to go to the Music application and set a ringtone or song in your storage card as your ringtone. To do that top up arrow and Music then tap the three paralel lines at the bottom-left corner of the screen to go to the Library. Play the song that you want to use as a ringtone and on the Playback screen, press MENU and then tap Set as ringtone.
No, a SIM card cannot store ring-tones. It is only capable of holding your phone number and contact information. You would need to get a micro-SD memory card and download onto that OR directly onto the phones memory bank.
Copy and paste your ring tones or music to My Documents/My Ringtones
folder. You will be able to select the music or tones at the Sounds and
Notifications setup page. To save space on your memory, you can also store it in My Storage which is the 8 or 16GB card. Create a folder called My Ringtones under My Storage. Put all your MP3 songs in My Storage/My Ringtones.
You cannot save a ringtone, picture, or music to a SIM card. Those files get saved to the "hard drive" of the phone. In order to get music into your phone to use as a ringtone, you must either
1. Download through one of those pay for services like Jamster or through t-zones or the like.
2. Use a data connection plan to download from the "mobile net". Sites are free that let you upload your music to an address that you can go to on your mobile web and download to your phone. The phone usually knows where to download the ringtone to on its own. T-mobile's t-zones costs $5.99 a month for the mobile web.
3. Use a USB connector and the media managing software for the phone to transfer the file to your phone. The Motorola RZR uses a software called Motorola Phone Tools to do this. The Blackberry also has its own Blackberry User Tools Software. Usually, the software shows you the "folders" on the phone and one will be called "tones". You put it there and it comes up in your list of ringtones.
