I'm trying to install and configure my TrenDnet router but first I had to set my modem to bridge mode to use the router but when in bridge mode my SpeedStream won't connect to the internet. Why?

In Bridge mod, it means that you have to configure a Broadband connection on your computer to be able to connect to the internet.

To use your router with the speedstream, the Trendnet must not be used in bridge mode. Configure it to be connected to internet, then plug the speedstream to it.

Ethernet light flashing

Check your DSL Filters on your house phones or anything connected to the phone line EXCEPT the modem. The modem should not have a filter on it. If this doesnt help I would recommend getting your ISP out to test the line because sometimes the resisitors or hardware in the box goes bad or at the DSLAM.

How do i make my speedstream 6520 wireless?

"If your PC has not been connected to a broadband modem or other network device, you will need to
perform the PC configuration procedure below. Remember to restart each PC when finished. If your

1. Start your Web browser. In the Address box, enter the following: »speedstream.
2. Press Enter. The SpeedStream Simple Setup Wizard will launch.
3. When prompted, enter the Internet connection information provided by your

4. At the end of the Setup Wizard, you will be given the option to either connect to
the Internet or further configure the optional settings of the gateway.
5. If additional configuration is desired, select the icon for the service or option
you wish to configure: the gateway’s firewall and security settings, User
Profiles and content filtering, or home network options."

"Using the Wireless Connection
By default, the SpeedStream® Gateway is configured to work
seamlessly with other SpeedStream® wireless products. The default
wireless interface settings are:
SSID: SpeedStream
Channel: 11
Mismatched wireless settings will prevent successful
wireless network connections between devices, so
you may need to reconfigure some wireless settings
to ensure that all settings match between wireless
devices if you are:
a) Using another manufacturer’s wireless products
b) Adding the SpeedStream® Gateway to an existing
wireless network
The Setup Wizard will walk you through setting up wireless settings."

I just bought a SpeedStream 4100 modem

if you brought the wireless new from a vendor. you don't need to configure it. unless you want to.
but if you brought a used one (in you case). you have to configure it. You need to get inside (software wise) of the modem. to do that you need login name and password to start with. if you don't have it, please call or e-mail the guy you brought the modem from.
then you have to configure the security for the wireless, unless you want everyone under sun to access your modem via wireless.
search on the web, you should come away with a user manual for the unit.

Will not connect

First, I would make sure you are using the right type of patch cable to connect to your cable/dsl modem. There are two types: 1) Straight through 2) Cross over The manual for this device says to use #1 when connecting directly to a computer, and #2 when connecting to a hub. http://www.fltg.net/Software/5667B%20Quick%20Start%20Guide.pdf If the cable/dsl modem is powered on and you are not receiving a link light on either the cable/dsl modem or your computer, try using a different cable. If this does not work, then you may have a problem with the device itself. At that point, call your Internet Service Provider, as they may be able to provide you with a replacement. If you did not receive this device from an ISP, then you will have to contact the manufacturer directly. Unfortunately, it looks like Efficient Networks was bought by Siemens, so you may have a hard time receiving support from them. http://www.efficient.com/ http://subscriber.communications.siemens.com/broadband_family_frame.htm
