Mp460 scanner scan to Toshiba SAtellite won't work

My computer recognizes my MP460 with scanner. Scanner is on and says scan and is plugged into computer. Book says go to MP Navigator, maybe I don't have it? Cannot start up, important, help!

well, since the computer recognized the mp460 I assumed the driver was installed. The printer works fine. I do have the PIZXMA MP460 setup CD-Rom Driver Appl softwear

I just tried to install the driver, referred me to microsoft which eventually said canon and vista had incompatibility issues...said to contact canon for upgrades and yet...the printer works fine?

have you installed the driver??

may be that is why your scanner is not detected.....

are you running windows vista...???

i too just verified the canon site...and

it tells your scanner model is not supported by vista and

the upgrade software for mp640 will be available soon...

hen go to control pannel
select the scanner and camera wizard
click on canon scanner
click next and scan the document

Mp460 problem

The 5010 error is a scanner error, the lamp is dead, or the scan assembly is stuck. There are no parts, only whole scanner assembly replacement. You get a one year warranty with Canon, after that it could be a $200.00 repair.

Trying to scan, al it does is bring up Muvee

Scan directly through your scanner:
Control Panel / Scanners and Cameras
Right Click Your Scanner: Click Get Pictures using Scanner Wizard

are you pressing ok on the printer? all of your scanning should be done via the MP460 navigator. check your applications under the Canon Utlitiy and click on the MP460 Navigator button. scanning needs to be done via that - not the actual printer. refer to the dialogue box when you are on the MP460 navigator. lower left area has a Save bar, when you click on it tow options: save to PC or save as PDF.

i was told that the printer needs to be directly connected to the imac (not airport) for the scanner to work.
i have the same issue w/ the airport extreme.
