Return it to JVC for servicing. There is a fault in the CCD.

My flip video camera was working properly then after i recorded some footage it will not sync to the computer anymore. When i try to plug it in it asks if i want to scan and fix the camera but the camera...

The battery may be defective (corrupt). It is not uncommon for rechargeable batteries to go bad, even fairy new ones. You could try a camera reset:

Hold the power button down for 10 seconds
Check and see if the camera has unfrozen
Power the camera off and leave untouched for about 15 seconds.
Turn the camera back on and ensure that it is working properly.

If it is not, you must do a "hard reset."
Take a pin or the point of a thumbtack and press it into the tiny reset hole near the camera's tripod mount. This should reset the camera without affecting any of the video footage recorded with the camera.

If that still doesn't work, contact Flip (Pure Digital) Tech support or replace battery.

Maxwell,

I get "STBY" message on my screen and the LCD is blank

Locate the record button on your camera and press it. When you hold your camera in the right hand it should be somewhere where your thumb is and normally has a red dot on it.

Frozen screen on recording

There's a hidden Reset button at the bottom of the Flip Mino. At the bottom of the camera, there is a screw base a tripod. Inside of that screw base there is a little hole. Use a paperclip and poke it into the hole. Hold it there for 7 seconds. You may need to repeat this process 3-4 times. This should shut down the video camera.
