Unplug the blender. Use a baking soda and vinegar solution to clean the metal contacts on the bottom of the metal blender blade. (You will see a small circular inverted washer looking thing). Use the solution on the main blender unit also. (You will see a small circular metal piece in the center) Scrub them both with the solution and wipe. These seem to be some type of sensors.
