Set up ASUS A7S333 to K7

The mobo is able to work without drivers, but you will not have the best performance. If you want drivers you can search to the ASUS site or google.

I have a kt400 Dragon motherboard I am hooking up. When I turn the power on the cpu fan comes on the the buzzer on the motherboard sounds and the fan stops and nothing works.

This is a Soyo motherboard which was discontinued some time ago. Soyo does provide some support, though, with drivers and the manual located here:

http://www.soyo.com/content/Downloads/155/&c=37&p=146&l=English

The buzzer you are hearing is the ABR Buzzer. ABR stands for Anti-Burn Regulator. Circuitry on the MB monitors the internal CPU temperature, and when it rises above a certain level, the buzzer sounds and the system will shut down, to prevent the CPU from being fried.

In my experience, this is typically due to a malfunctioning CPU fan. You said yours is spinning at boot, so it might not be the fan. It may also be that you are trying to use a CPU that is not fully compatible with the motherboard (especially one that is 6 years old). If this is the case, the ABR software may be mis-reading the data from the CPU, thinking it is overheating, and then shutting it down.

The manual is one of the best I've seen as for detail and explanations, so I'd give it a look. This is the direct link for it:

http://www.soyo.com/uploads/downloads/manuals/k7/mk7vx4b12.pdf

Also, if you are trying to overclock the CPU, that can cause overheating in a hurry, and result in a shutdown. You might want to reset the motherboard to factory defaults (remove the CMOS battery, wait a bit, re-install it), in case a previous owner had been using overclocking.

Cheers
Nick

SOYO USB lock up must reset PC before accessing any USB

I have had alot of problems with soyo mobo's.  Seems the drivers that they provide for the USB are crappy.  Best stick with windows default drivers.
