I'm trying to wire the timer into a circuit that controls my outside lights. The outside lights are controled by two seperate switches (one at the front door and one in the garage). The switch I am replacing has 3 connections two at the top and one at the bottom. Both top connectors have a brown wire attached and the bottom conector has a yellow wire connected. The timer has a black wire, red wire, white wire and a green wire. What do I do?
If these lights are on 2 way switch you are going to have to figure out which wire runs to your outside lights. If you aren't familiar with 2 way switches here's a link to a site that will help:
http://2wayswitch.com/2-way-switch-wiring-diagram/
If you look at the diagrams on this site, you will see that ONE of the switches has a wire that runs to the light. I don't know which switch this is in your case.
You also need to decide if you want to be able to override the timer with the switches. Also, please confirm that the switches are 2 way (meaning that you can always turn on the lights from either switch). Sorry I couldn't explain more but I need to know whether the timer has complete control over the lights or if you want the switches to override the timer.
It might be a little trickier than you might think. Good luck and be careful.

Thanks, They are two way switches, you can always turn the lights on from either switch. In my new configuration I will have the time in one box and a switch in the other. I would still like to be able to override the timer with the other switch.
