HP LaserJet 1022 is a "host-based" printer so it must be connected to a PC. Load the driver on PC first and connect the USB cable when software tells you to do so.
Will not work on a Linksys print server.
LaserJet 1022N & LaserJet 1022NW have "special" HP print servers that can support HP host based printers.

An error page will print with the words "Unsupported Personality: PCL " in the upper left hand corner. The printers are host-based and do not support PCL printing; therefore, installing an alternate PCL5e or PCL6 printer driver will frequently generate this error condition.
NOTE:
This error condition occurs by design when an attempt to print with a PCL5e or PCL6 printer driver occurs and is NOT a bug within the product software.
SOLUTION:
Install the correct HP LaserJet Host-Based Printer Driver or the HP LaserJet printing system software for the product. These drivers are available for download from the HP web site. Click here to go to the HP web site drivers and downloads page.NOTE:
There are several programs (such as accounting, invoicing, court documentation applications) that are 16 bit (DOS) programs with a 32 bit (Windows) overlay. Due to the nature of these applications and the associated Windows overlay, the errors may continue with the correct printer drivers. These applications do not typically support a host-based output device, and as such would not be supported in these environments.
Supported HP Printer: HP Color LaserJet 2600n printer
(Host-Based) Recommended PCL5 Device Type: SAPWIN
- requires Server-based printing via SAPSprint or Frontend Printing via SAPgui Supported SAP Release: See SAP Note # 8928
The HP LaserJet 1000 is a Host Based printer and so is not compatible with your router's USB print server.
You cannot use this printer with this print server, it needs to be connected directly to a computer that can run the HP drivers/software.
From D-Links tech specs for your router:- ** Host-based printers are not supported. Please check with the printer manufacturer if your printer model is host-based (GDI).
I found this document setting up
Crystal Reports for your printer. I hope this helps.
