I live in the Philippines, and have my Yamaha YPG - 625 Keyboard here. They have 220 volts here and I have an AVR and plug in to that but it is 110 volt plug in. The keyboard plays but the display window has lines going accross a doesn't work properly. I read in the manuel to use the required voltage, which in the California it is 115 volts. Please help me out on this one. And also, how can I get more sound. Everything seems to function okay escept the display window. The volumn of the sound seems the same as when I was in California. I live in Olongapo, Philipppines. Thankyou PS, I had it shipped here last June, 2009, had personally crated it my self with other belongings, so I don't think there is anything eternal wrong with it.
You need to use a transformer type voltage convertor.
DO NOT use the type for converting 220 down to 120 for hair driers.
The voltage should NOT be a problem as usually these will operate down to 100 volts. If the keyboard is sounding correctely, that would indicate there is NOT a problem with voltage.
It is LIKELY that the connections to the LCD were damaged in shipping. There are many, many connections to the glass assembly and if dislodged will have lines across the display.
Repairing this is usually not something one can do unless very experience in electronics.
