Please service your printer section fuser.
May be sume of waste tonter covered thermostate,so it can not pass normal temp.clean it properly then fix your problem.

Press menu (downarrow) button ,press # , Press T, printer fuser error has reset.
that is only solution and simple no need to open the printer or doing anything else, enjoy

* I bought an IC and soldered on the board now and never needed the chip, printing and copying throughout the useful life of the machine, just put toner and ready.

* While the "Fuser Error" I also found the solution:
- Select MENU then * # then press OK CSO1 show will appear CS01 - 00,100,001 10,100,001 to modify and press OK. CS02 appears press STOP. Made this disconnect and reconnect xerox 3100 and is ready only joy.

    * Comprei um CI e soldei na placa e agora nunca mais precisei de chip, impressões e cópias por toda a vida util da máquina, só colocar toner e pronto.

    * Enquanto o "Erro no Fusor" também achei a solução:
    - Selecione MENU depois * depois # mostrará CSO1 pressione OK vai aparecer CS01 - 00100001 modifique para 10100001 e pressione OK. Aparecerá CS02 pressione STOP. Feito isso desligue a xerox 3100 e ligue novamente e pronto é só alegria.

Disassemble fuser unit and inspect thermistor and thermostat for dirt or damges, and heater lamp for damages.

Printer error fuser temp
You will have to replace the fuser. Call 1-800-835-6100 and follow the prompts to purchase parts. It isnt real expensive. Just make sure you still don't have some warranty left on the parts.
