SOURCE: NO POWER/POWER FAILURE

I'd assume this machine uses an ATX design power supply. ATX and other late designs (after the days of the AT style units) have a standby voltage supply which powers just a small portion of the motherboard circuitry (voltage= +5 volts). Your problem is likely caused by one or more electrolytics in this standby section. If you open the supply, you should see at least 2 switching transformers, likely sitting close to each other. One will be large (for the main/full power) and a small one (for the standby section). Usually the bad capacitor is on the primary side (on the side where the switching transistor is). It may be a 10MFD/50Volt or 47MFD/25Volt, or some value close. If the bad cap is on the secondary side (the section which is connected to your motherboard), then the value will be something like a 1000MFD/10Volt or 16Volt, or 1500MFD, 2200MFD. This capacitor will be physically larger than the one noted for the primary side. I can't tell you the exact location on the board where these capacitors might be, except they will be close to the small transformer mentioned above. If you have a digital camera, and could take a pic or 2, I might be able to point to the exact suspect part. You could send pic to [email protected]. Of course, you need a solder iron/solder, and a little skill...

SOURCE: I bought a d-link router

Radio Shack sells this adapter. The first customer review is from someone who says he used it to replace a D-Link adapter, so it's probably what you need.

Screen is white

Hello,

This type of problem is usually caused by a failure of the power supply board. The power supply puts out 5v and 12v to the electronics. If the power supply 5v side fails then the electronics does not get the right power but the back lights do so you get a white screen and no picture. The audio electronics are powered by a different power output. Here is a link to a repair guide for the Q19w that shows how to dis-assemble the unit and then which capacitors need to be replaced to revive the unit.

My power supply in my phonic helix mkII 24 board is blown, it was messed up in a power surge, I have tested the remaining connecting parts and everything else is fine. I contacted phonic and they dont...

Usually it's the electrolytic caps that go in those, they basically "cook" and dry out, a power spike just pushes them over the edge. I've also had this problem with mine & 2 12 volt switchers for my HD and for the satellite had the same fix. I added a fan which helps. Another solution is to go to a second hand store, find 3 power suplies (15v,15v, 5V) and put them in place of the existing one. I am considering that myself as the firewire packed it in again last month and I had to jump over to the other 5v regulator to get it going again, even tho it was only 0.2 v short! Cheers, Sandrine

5v present on stb voltage but no 12v & 24v & 5v of system on power supply MLT 070a PLS HELP

Plasma and LCD TV sets are prone to having capacitors in the power supply section fail. This is the most likely cause for the probem you describe. When capacitors fail your will commonly see one or more of the following symptoms.
  • No video, Power light is on or blinking.
  • TV is making a clicking noise.
  • TV takes a while to come on
  • Screen is very dim or flickers.

Again, You can get a power supply repair kit with the parts, detailed instructions, and support from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com . Or just click here to see more details on their kit.

Here are pictures of capacitors...Notice that the ones below look bloated. They have failed and will need to be repalced.

ATX-300-12Z was hit with a power surge (thought we had a surge protector). Green light on power supply blinking at 2X/second. No power at USB devices (or anywhere else.) PC was on when surge hit.

There were 2 Switching power supply circuit inside the ATX PSU. There's a Standy PWM circuit whichSupply +5V to the PWM IC of the Main PWM. Stand by pwm still working or insufficient voltage, lower than +5V. This is the reason you still have Green light. Check or replaced small filter capacitor around 100 MFD 16V, open resistor or shorted diode that was nearest of the PWM IC..
Watch out for charge voltage on big capacitors.

CD player not working

Hello, I may be able to help. When the SC board powers up, it should go through a lengthly sequence of numbers indicating program versions of the SC board and the player itself. It should then stop with a solid "0". At this point, if you have a CD on the player (and clamped with a magnetic puck, from the clamp arm), you should be able to make it play by pressing the middle button on the SC board. The display should flash "8" while it's reading the table of contents, the display 0-1, indicating that it's playing track 1. If this fails, and you know that the player is o.k., I would expect that the SC board needs repaired. I can repair this for you, as well as help with removing it from the machine. Please feel free to email me, [email protected].

Need to know "no bus" indicator light on instrument panel....

"No Bus" means the data cable going to the (PCM) computer is unplugged, or the PCM has failed and not able to read the information it is being given.
Sometimes just jiggling the PCM causes the ODO "NO BUS" to come on.
Sometimes a bad crank or cam sensor can cause this as well.

Here is the OFFICIAL checklist for the "NO BUS" condition....

Vehicle: 1998 - 1999 Dodge Durango 3.9L
2000 - 2001 Dodge Durango 4.7L
1998 - 2000 Dodge Durango 5.2L
1998 - 2001 Dodge Durango 5.9L

Symptom: Engine will not start. Gauges are inoperative. No BUS message displayed on odometer.

System: Body/Chassis Electrical, Emissions/PCM/Fuel, Engine Electrical

Codes: N/A

Problem 1 of 6: The 5v power supply from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is shorted due to a shorted Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor.

Test & Fix: If the 5v power supply circuit is shorted to ground, the CCD bus is unable to transmit messages and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) appears to be "dead". The PCM is not damaged when the 5v power supply gets shorted to ground, but does need to be reset by turning the key off for 10 second after the short is removed. Using a DVOM or labscope, measure the voltage on the 5v reference wire at the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) or Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. If 5v is not present, unplug the Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor. Turn the key off for 10 seconds. Turn the key on and measure the voltage on the 5v power supply circuit. If the voltage is now 5v, replace the CKP sensor.

Problem 2 of 6: The 5v power supply from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is shorted due to a shorted Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor.

If 5v is not present, unplug the Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor. Turn the key off for 10 seconds. Turn the key on and measure the voltage on the 5v power supply circuit. If the voltage is now 5v, replace the CMP sensor.

Problem 3 of 6: The 5v power supply from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is shorted due to a shorted Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor.

If 5v is not present, unplug the MAP sensor. Turn the key off for 10 seconds. Turn the key on and measure the voltage on the 5v power supply circuit. If the voltage is now 5v, replace the MAP sensor.

Problem 4 of 6: The 5v power supply from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is shorted due to a shorted Throttle Position Sensor (TPS).

Using a DVOM or labscope, measure the voltage on the 5v reference wire (5 volt power supply) at the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) or Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor. If 5v is not present, unplug the TPS. Turn the key off for 10 seconds. Turn the key on and measure the voltage on the 5v power supply circuit. If the voltage is now 5v, replace the TPS.

Problem 5 of 6: The 5v power supply from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is shorted due to a shorted wire.

If 5v is not present, unplug all sensors that are connected to the 5v power supply and disconnect the PCM. Check if either 5v power supply circuit is shorted to ground using a DVOM. If the circuit is found to be shorted to ground, repair the wire and the cause of the short.

Problem 6 of 6: The 5v power supply from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is shorted due to a shorted Governor Pressure Sensor.

If 5v is not present, unplug the large round connector on the driver's side of the transmission. Turn the key off for 10 seconds. Turn the key on and measure the voltage on the 5v power supply circuit. If the voltage is now 5v, remove the transmission pan and check for shorted wiring inside the transmission. If the wiring is OK, replace the Governor Pressure Sensor.

Many times the PCM simply overheats - and changing it will stop the problem.

Power supply

Hi have a nice day!
Check if new fuse is of same type that is needed ie 2A , 2,5A as manual says. dont put different.
If you put correct fuse and blows then there is a short circuit at power supply area or after it and your TV must take to a qualified repair shop.
If you are familiar with electronic repairs write me down make and model to look for a service manual available.

No power led, wlan led blinking

well, what you could try is unplugging the power source from the cable modem, and the router. wait about 1 minute. then plug everything back in and wait.

i remember having this problem as well, but i think the problem with me was that my wireless computer was too far away from the wireless router, not saying that your too far or not, but that what i had, so i just pitched the wireless adapter, and created an ethernet connection. just sharing my experience.

JVC DRMH20 "Loading problem"

voltages on CN5303 should be 12V and 5V. I found 5V to be2,5....3V.Check input of regulator MM1665A(should be 6V). If 6V ok,remove connector CN5303 and check if 5V ok.If so,here is my way to fix this "loading" problem.(create a new regulated 5V circuit)
Replace C5206 with 1000uF/25V,C5306 with 100uF/25V,isolate anode of D5213 from transformer,
wire one and an half turn around transformer, connect one end to ground and the other to the anode of D5213,remove MM1665A and replace with 7805 on appropriated radiator.
Input on 7805 is around 11,8V reason why you need to install it on a radiator.
