The GE Profile Dishwasher does not drain completely. The bottom drain shows no obvious clog and the screens are clear. The overflow drain in the back of the washers the only reason the dishwasher does not overflow. Any suggestions......The washer is about 10 years old...

Uncouple the drain hose connection under the sink and use a wet/dry vacuum to **** out the drain hose and the stub on the sink drain plumbing to clear any possible clogs. There may be a blocked check valve near the pump that might have to be cleaned or replaced. Check the hose itself for any kinks or collapsed section. There might be a damaged drain impeller on the pump. Hope this helps!

My portable GE dishwasher is clogged and wont drain

Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller.
Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Dishwasher not draining

Hi,

Thanks for writing to Fixya.com.

To fix a dishwasher that will not drain, remove any clogs that are blocking the drain line by pouring a paste of baking soda, vinegar and water down the drain, and then pouring boiling water to clear the clog. Repeat the process several times to remove a severely clogged dishwasher drain. Thanks for contacting Fixya and please accept the solution if it has helped you.

Dishwasher overflowed, garbage disposal still works. Ran the dishwasher and noticed food and debris shooting back into sink thru garbage disposal. Water was on floor. Upon completion of full cycle, water...

Before loading into the machine you have to remove food particles. Washer will wash the greasy surface. If particles are left in the dishes, the same will find entry to the drain system. Check the drain filter in your machine. Clean them. Mostly problem will be solved!

GE profile dishwasher won't drain

Common cause of this problem is a partially blocked drain line. Disconnect drain line and make sure entire path is clear, including where it connects to the sink drain or garbage disposal. Also, make sure all screens and the drain area at the bottom of the dishwasher are completely clear.

GE dishwaher leaks with standing water in bottom

Check to make sure regular dish soap did not end up getting inside the dishwasher. This will create a lot of suds that will overflow onto the kitchen floor. Standing water from not draining can mean the drain hose is clogged somewhere or the check valve has something caught in it. If you remove the front kick plate, you will be able to check those.
