Is it new? If you just hooked it up, it might take a little time to bleed the air out of the gas line. Also make sure that the gas valve is open. I know it sounds obvious but it is left closed many times.
Hi,You have inspected both the baking and broiler heating elements, and you still can't find a problem with your range/oven parts? Inspect the connections between the heating element and the terminal. You could have a badly connected electric wire, or a burned out electric wire. Range/Oven parts must deal with both voltage and extreme heat, so it's a common problem to have a burned wire from time to time. This is a simple fix and if you check this problem in your initial run of troubleshooting, you may save yourself unnecessary purchases of range/oven parts, etc.
Also Voltage Check can be the problem. Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times, sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!!
This is usually caused by the main control. The relay for the broiler has likely melted into the on position. Here is a link that should help Replacing oven ERC
i have a magic chef gas range. broiler work, burners work, fan works when you turn the oven on, but oven does not get hot. could it be the electronic ignitor or does even have one.
Flipped the breaker switch! Although we had looked at the breaker first thing, and it was not flipped off, plus everything else on the range was working: we found out it is actually a double breaker, with one half controlling just the oven, and it can be just partially flipped and you don't notice it. So as soon as you toggle it off and on again, you are back in full power.
