Sounds like you saved your progress file in a non Rosetta Stone folder and now it can't associate the progress with any language packs.

  • Anonymous Mar 10, 2010

Both change the location of your save folder then associate the folder with the files by making the save location the default one for Rosetta stone, then if you can find your saved folder, copy and paste it in the location listed as default in the advanced menu.
Since I no longer have the program installed, I can't list the folder name for you. As it is right now, your saved progress is correct, and all the files are where they belong, but the program is looking for the actual progress in the default folder instead of yours.

Create a security exception. 1. In ESET NOD32 (Smart Security 5), click Setup.
2. On the Setup screen, click Enter advanced setup... (bottom of screen).
3. On the Advanced setup screen, open Computer -> Antivirus and antispyware -> Exclusions.
4. Click Add , locate/select the Rosetta Stone Version 3 executable, then click OK. (In my case, the executable was in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Rosetta Stone Version 3 folder.)
5. Click OK on the Advanced setup screen.
Set the Rosetta Stone compatibility mode. 1. Right click the Rosetta Stone desktop icon or Start -> All programs -> Rosetta Stone.
2. Select Properties from the list.
3. Select the Compatibility tab.
4. Check the Run this program in compatibility mode box.
5. In the list below the check box, select the OS (in my case, Windows 7).
6. Click OK.

I have used my software for more than one year on the same computer without any problems until now. It will not let me engage into any lessons. It says I have to activate it. When I click to activate it...

You are going to have to contact Rosetta Stone to see if there was a expiration on the software.

The other possible solution is to do a system restore back to before the software stopped working.

Start--> run -->
restore and then double click rstrui and then walk through the menus.

Hi, I'm using Rosetta Stone 3 online through a school license. I keep getting a 'loading next screen' box popping up, but it gets stuck at three quarters loaded, and refuses to go any further! Any ideas on...

Do you have the issue with other levels or languages as well? Maybe you can try removing and then adding the languages again, and see if that helps. As a last resort, you can also try reinstalling Rosetta Stone if this occurs with all languages and levels you own.

After selecting user nothing happens. Just a blank tan screen that says Rosetta Stone in a tab on the top left, three icons on top right

Just got off the phone with rosetta stone support for this exact problem. This is caused by a failure during the language update (I'm going to assume just before this happened it was prompting you to update the language files to the latest version, that was my scenario).

In any event, the fix is simple - Browse through your file system to C:\ProgramData\Rosetta Stone\ (you may have to set to show hidden files to see this path). Open the Products.Xml file and scroll to the very end. There is going to be a "<Product>" node (note, not <ProductS>) as the last subnode of <Products> and this node will have a Course Id of "null". If so, delete the entire <Product> node down to </Product>. Save, close the file, and restart Rosetta Stone -- voila.

After uploading the application software for Rosetta Stone, I try and start the application and I receive: there was an error in the application. error 2123. How do I fix this problem for my iBook G4...

I started getting "Error 2123" recently, and spent A LOT of time searching for the fix. Here is what finally worked:

Find the hidden file "tracking.db3". It's in the hidden folder "ProgramData/Rosetta Stone" under the "C:" directory. Copy and paste it to the Rosetta Stone install directory (Program Files/Rosetta Stone).

Error 2123 should be gone, but now there will be Error 2125. So, in the Rosetta Stone install directory, run the "service_installer" .exe file by double-clicking it.

I have a G4 ibook. When I try to load Rosetta Stone on computer it acts like it wants to load but then all the sudden it goes to a blank screen. If you can help please do. The software worked the first...

Isolate the problem to make sure its not the optical reader.  Get a music CD and try to see if it will play, then get a DVD out to see if it will play, then get another software disc to see if it will play.  Will all three play fine?  Then your Rosetta disc is fu.k.d up from heavy scratches, smudges, or corrupt manufacturing process. Otherwise, your optical drive needs to be replaced if it has problems playing the other discs.

I have Japanese levels 1,2 and 3 for rosetta stone. i installed all the software and entered the activation code. it says my codes are activated but when i open the software i only get a blank screen with...

The problem is related to the FNPLicensingService.exe service and FNInterface.dll file.

The first thing you can try is open Rosetta Stoneto and kill the FNPLicensingService.exe in task manager. This may or may not give you access to Rosetta Stone.

If that doesn't work, install Rosetta Stone on another computer (your license will allow two machines) then copy the rosetta stone directory from program files to the new system. Then open Rosetta Stone and it should be fine.

Before doing either of these things it's best to delete the c:\program data\rosetta stone\tracking.id file.
