Keep putting my name on previous posts, did absolutely nothing to help me fix my camera except say buy a new one lens is broken...come on I cannot believe this is what you call expert advice
Sorry, missed your previous posts. The following blog outlines some simple repair options for a lens error. They won't work for all cases, but they're worth a try if the camera's no longer under warranty. Hope they help:

Wish you the best of luck. But keep in mind though that you have a 50/50 chance of repair with the above techniques. If they don't work, the camera likely needs replacement of the lens assembly. Unfortunately, due to the complexity of the repair (a LOT of things in the way), the cost of such a repair usually outweighs the value of the camera.
The following two links are repair guides for fixing a cracked LCD on similar SD500/600 models. They include some photos that may help illustrate how deeply buried the lens assembly is in the sd elph cameras.
