you have most likely lost 2 of your color guns, most projectors have RED, Green and BLUE as the projector colors (some newer projectors have added a 4th color). if one of your color guns has gone out, you may experience colors that are not correct. that is where I would start. go to the convergence routine, in your setup menu. this is where you can determine if one of your "guns" has quit working.
first reset the settings to factory default. if that doesn't work, check the colorwheel. remove the lamp. in the little window inside the lamp housing, you'll see colored glass. that should spin. if there is no glass, it's not clear, or it does not spin, you'll have to replace it.
Check to be sure that the projector is in the correct mode. If it is expecting an RGB signal and you send it (Y,Pr,Pb), you will see the picture as you describe. The same works for the above reversed. In all likelyhood, you are sending RGB and the projector is expecting the other.

The only way to access these settings is through the Service Menu , now if the tech support doesn't want to help you , rather send go to dell.com and send them a e-mail with your request on how to enter the service menu.
This must be a DLP (I hate DLP Personally). What most likely happened is that the color wheel got stuck or broke. Remove the bulb, you will be able to see the color wheel. Don't touch it with your hand, see if you can move it with a tooth pick or something. Then try turning it on with the bulb out to see if it moves.
I also replaced the color wheel in my EP739 after the old one disintegrated suddenly. Colours were then all over the place. Actually, it looked like each colour channel was displaying all the colours of the rainbow!
Here is the procedure I used to solve the problem - maybe not as elegant as Marrie's solution, but it will not cause any damage, will most likely solve the problem, and you will be able to get everything back to the way it was if it doesn't work:
Have the projector running and displaying a stationary picture. The right sort of picture to use is one that has a full range of brightness values from near-black to peak white. I used my lap-top as the source. Also, this way you can compare the projector's picture with the picture on the lap-top.
Press the power button once. "Power off the lamp" dialogue box appears. Hold down the left arrow button until the service menu appears (takes about 8 seconds).
Using the up/down arrow buttons, scroll down to "Color Setting" and press "enter".
Scroll up to "Color Wheel Index". Make a note of the existing setting for later reference. You can change the Index setting over a range of 100 to 550 by holding down the left/right arrow buttons. As the setting changes, the colour rendition will slowly change, and at some point the colours will come right. Note that the changes are quite slow. Find the lower and higher settings where colour aberrations just start to appear, and set the Index mid-way between.
If this doesn't fix the problem, return the Index setting to original. My original setting was 354 and the new setting was 461.
I do not advise touching any other settings in the service menu unless you have access to a service manual and know what you are doing.
In short If the reds show as red, The greens show as green & Blue shows as blue. I would say thats as good as it can project. It's hard to judge color without seeing it for ones self but usually DLP projectors that use a colorwheel do not have perfect color.
