Hi

Best thing to do is run a bio update, also download the Service pack 3and put it onto a usb stick as XP is a nightmare with drivers with out the latest updates.

Let me know if it fix's it, if not give me a shout

Hi,

Make sure that the drivers for both the NIC (ethernet) and wireless are installed. Then you will need to reset the TCP/IP.

In Windows XP click on the start menu and then click on Run. In the box type cmd and hit the enter key. A command window will open up. type in the window netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt and hit enter.

2 new registry keys will be wrote in the registy >>>>>>>

SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\
SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DHCP\Parameters\

Reboot the Windows OS and hopefully you can then access the net via both types of connections.

Regards.

If you are connecting via wireless, the reason is usually because your router has lost its internet connection. Try switching the wireless router off, waiting 10 seconds and switching it on again. Can you explain how you are trying to connect and if you can use any other computer successfully, etc.

Setting up a computer as a wireless internet router

for windows xp you man set up the connection via cable or bluetooth and ms active sync - the htc (windows mobile) is able to use the hosts network connection.
you may also set up an ad-hoc wlan on you eee and turn on internet connection sharing for your mobile broadband connection. if you connect your eee to the ad-hoc wlan it should be able to access the internet

Unable to load xp on eeepc 900 linux unit

There is a Win XP recovery disc for the unit. You could call Asus and request the XP Recovery CD or you could try checking torrents, newsgroups, etc. for "eeepc xp recoverydisc"

EeePC 4G

It is very easy to change to XP windows.

Note: exchanging the unit for bogus reasons
(saying it crashes, when it doesn't) is bad
for your karma! Try the exchange in an honest
manner.

1. Read the instructions for converting to XP, in your manual or go to the ASUS website for instructiions.

2. The required windows drivers are on one
of the support discs that came with the eeepc.
(why would they include these, if the unit wasn't
meant to be converted to win XP?)

3. Or download the drivers from the ASUS website.

4. You must supply your copy of windows XP for this.

5. for easy step-by-step directions go to eeeuser.com

6. prepare to spend about 4-6 hours on this - not quick.
