Time to start using a card reader instead of your camera.

Uploading photos

The pictures are too big, reduce the size by compressing them using JPEG software.

Change the file format when saving can reduce the file size by up to 90%.

When I go to upload my photos to my computer error code 0x80010108 appears and doesnt allow me to upload. the problem only started last week, up until then all okay

It could be that you don't have enough space on your HDD. (computer)
Or you could have a virus. It is not letting you upload photo's .
Also try to reinstall your camera software. Good luck.

I have a canon xl1 with a firewire cable to connect to my new mac but cant seem to find the option to upload my film, any help?

The problem has now been solved by the software I have used, if you are using a programme with a capture and log mode this should automatically find the camcorder for you.

My pictures won't upload

You need to install the software for your camera and allow it to start when windows starts. That way, your pictures from your camera will be uploaded as soon as you connect it to your computer. Or try also to start the camera software and plug the camera to automatically upload images. To automate it, you need the software to run when windows starts. Simply add the software at system startup.

Canon power shot won't upload pics. "Cannot connect to device."

It's very hard to troubleshoot software problems online, and it likely is a software issue. But why put up with the headaches of bad software in the first place? Please see the following blog article, as it describes the use of a card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue:

CANON IXUS 75 Cannot upload photos to pc anymore!

OK, I'VE GOT ONE IDEA THAT MIGHT WORK. IT'S WORTH A TRY. DO THIS. TURN YOUR COMPUTER OFF> CONNECT YOUR CAMERA>TURN THE CAMERA ON>THEN, TURN YOUR COMPUTER ON AND SEE IF YOUR COMPUTER WILL RECOGNIZE IT THEN. THIS SHOULD CAUSE THE COMPUTER TO RECOGNIZE THE CAMERA. GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE THIS WORKS! IF YOU NEED MORE HELP,REPLY TO ARCLIGHT1217.

Cant upload because computer wont read it

If the installation software provided along with the camera doesnt get installed or doesnt support Vista, then u should use a Memory card reader to upload the photos.
Please rate me for this solution.
