SOURCE: Microwave heats but slowly.

This is the second time I have requested assitance on this site with no response. The beginning of this thread dates back two months. Why would I ever want to pay for support when it is so poor at this level?

SOURCE: No Heat

ALL functions work.... just no heat? Is that right? I am assuming that the control (computer?, relays?) ARE supplying power to the magnetron.

IF everything checks out as you say, is the magnetron filament O.K.? (You have to disconnect it from the transformer to test it.)

If the magnetron transformer draws 8 amps, it sounds like it's O.K. cause if it was shorted, it would blow a fuse, and if it was open, it wouldn't draw ANY current.

Check it out, tell me more and let me know. No heat means the Magnetron isn't working.

SOURCE: KENMORE MICROWAVE (HOUSEHOLD) LOCKED

It sounds like you press STOP two or three times to lock it. Maybe that (or another key) will unlock it.

The lock / unlock procedure will be covered in your owner's manual.

Or you can try a hard reset - unplug it from the wall for one minute, then plug it back in and try again.

If you don't have your manual, you can get one here. (Enter your model number without any spaces)

Why does my Kenmore microwave keep running with door open?

there are little fingers on the door that latch it to the microwave when you close it. there is a switch in the microwave that those fingers touch. something must have gotten in there and now the button is stuck. unplug microwave locate switch and try to clean around it to dislodge it. good luck hope this helped.

Frigidaire microwave plmv168cc1 makes humming noise when door closed

Chances are that the secondary (cook) relay on the control circuit board is shorted, meaning that the oven is actually cooking any time the door is closed.

You can test that by putting in a cup of water, shutting the door, and letting it go for about 30 seconds, then checking the water temperature.

This is dangerous, and can lead to a fire, so please unplug the oven until it is repaired.

The relay can be replaced for far less than the cost of a new control circuit board.

Kenmore 401.80083700 won't turn off

It is one of two things, a defective door switch, or the keypad control board has failed.

After the GE JVM1190BY002 Microwave stops its microwave sequence the fan motor above the touchpad just sits and hums but doesn't shut off.It still heats food corectely and it stops humming when I open...

You should first be sure your filters are clean and that your ductwork is clear.

See this link for a bulletin that may address your problem.

Otherwise, see this link in case you have a sticky door switch or relay.

When we close the door the motor keeps running.

This just started happening on my Kenmore microwave because the door latch broke off.

Kenmore microwave

i fixed by unplugging the microwave with the door open. I plugged it back in and the F6 was gone. I was then able to set the clock and turn the light on/off . When I closed the microwave door, the F6 came back on and the microwave was making a humming noise. I slapped the side of the microwave near the keypad, and the F6 cleared from the readout and the humming stopped. The microwave is working fine now. Don't know why, except maybe slap on the side reset a relay or something. Anyway, I will never by a Sears Kenmore appliance for the rest of my life. The door rattles when you open a close it (like a part inside the door is broken) and this is the second time a fault code has appeared during use. I had GE Profile appliances at my last house, which are more $$ initial cost, but who wants to screw around buying a new microwave every four or five years. I'll happily spend a couple hundred more for the peace of mind and knowing that it will work during Thanksgiving dinner with the family over.

Kenmore 1995 Built in Microwave humming sound only when door is close

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount, or a problem on the control panel.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.

Switch or mount trouble can be caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://www.searspartsdirect.com

If you think the problem is on the control panel, which we repair these nationwide for $39.95 postpaid.
