After picture is taken, double images appear in

After I take a picture, two images of the picture appear in the view window, however when you go to view, only one shows. why do 2 pictures appear? this just started 2 days ago, never happened before. what setting could have changed on my camera to maket his happen?

Image formation ,recording to the memory of the camera/card.done one image onlyat a time for an exposure ,redisplaying proces involve some steps,which r displayed ,resulting final image display,one image only,the other image what u saw forms the final image.

Did you try to press the info button several times? Whatch what happens on the screen, because the camera will cycle through several views.
It is in the manual, under Changing the image information display.

When i press the play button to view pictures i have taken, it shows a double image . one image is just the regular picture with boxes around it the other image is a zoomed in image of the regular picture....

Usually that's solved by just pushing the display button until you get a normal image. Ho[pe this helps!

To transfer images from your camera to your Windows XP PC, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your camera to your PC using the USB cable.

make the "live view"/"viewing screen" first enable by locating it in your menu or your settings. then after that you can go back from taking picture by using the viewing screen

in regards of viewing the pictures taken, press the display button. keep pressing until the viewing screen appears

try opening the photos with any other viewing software you have - paint, windows picture and fax viewer to name but 2. If you get the same results then the files are probably corrupt, and the probability is that your memory card could be causing the problem, try another card and see if pictures you take can be viewed. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the camera and the olympus software, it just might help. If this doesn't work please post again and we could give you some info on software for recovering corrupt and deleted files. Hope this helps :)
