I want to uninstall the program but it won't. Dell Windows XP is my computer. It wasn't working so I was going to uninstall it and then reinstall it, but the program won't erase off my computer. It freezes and an error pops up. I tried to uninstall from the programs and features tab, but it would say error rather than uninstall it. What do I do?

Does your PC recognise the fact that you've connected your camera?

Try uninstalling Capture NX2 and then reinstalling, if you still have the Installation CDs.

Have a look in c:\Programs(maybe also programs x86 look here as well) for the folder named nova or something similar, at least something which has some connection to the program you wish to uninstall. open this folder and look for a file called uninstall, this will be the uninstall provided by the software company. Try running this in compatibility mode for either vista or xp, may be worth trying both one after another. It sounds sas though maybe windows 7 has installed automatically in compatibility mode and not applied the same settings to the uninstall.

I hope this wasn't too vague about the folder name but as I dont have this software, this is a generic fix which can be applied to any software with which you are experiencing similar problems.

Uninstall and reinstall the program to so if you using Windows XP go to Start/Control Panel/Switch to Classic view/Add and Remove Programs/Uninstall Google Chrome. Windows Vista/7 Start/Control Panel/Under Programs Uninstall a program. Reinstall it from www.googlechrome.com good luck

1. Open Default Programs by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Default Programs.
2. On choose the programs that windows uses by default, Select “Associate a file type or protocol with a program > Click on the extension (.jar) to view the program that opens it by default.
3. Click change the program and select the default program JAVA virtual machine launcher
4. Click close.

It is possible. If you are able to logon to your computer, go to 'Add and Remove Programs' in Windows XP or 'Programs and Features' in Windows Vista and 7. Click on Dell Dock in the list, and click on Remove/Uninstall.
If you are not even able to logon to windows in the normal mode, try uninstalling the Dell Dock in safemode. If the uninstaller doesn't work in safemode, you can disable the Dock from the startup items in Safemode. To do this, type 'msconfig' in Run box in safemode, click on Startups tab and uncheck Dell Dock from the list. Restart your computer normally and try uninstalling the Dell Dock.

Not only Uninstalling & Reinstalling the McAfee Program would help, because usually you'd get this Error During the Installation. The Reason for this Error is because of the Windows Update (McAfee is Disigned on the Windows Platform).

Things that Needs to be checked here are:

1. Update Windows:
- Open IE (Internet Explorer).
- Click on the TOOLS or SAFETY (If the IE version is IE v.8).
- Select Windows Update.
- Ensure that All Windows Updates are Installed on the Computer.


2. Installing MSXML 3 & 4:
- Check if you already have MSXMLs installed on your Computer by going to START >> CONTROL PANEL >> ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS or PROGRAMS >> PROGRAMS & FEATURES (In Case of Windows Vista/7).
- If you find MSXMLs, Uninstall them & then Restart the Computer.
- Download and Reinstall MSXML version 3 (MSXML3.msi only).
- Restart the computer.
- Download and install MSXML version 4 (MSXML.msi only).
- Restart the computer.
- Run McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR.exe) from http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe
- Reinstall the McAfee Program.

DELL Computer Owners: This is primarily a problem with Dell Computers, 15** series and up with the installed "DataSafe Online" software. You must uninstall all DataSafe Online software (usually three separate programs in the Windows Uninstall/repair prgrams list you access from control panel), then if you desire to continue to use it, reinstall the software with the disk that was provided with your computer.

This comes directly from Dell advanced Tech Support. Let me know if it works for you as it has me.

Try to uninstall and reinstall the Sonic program. Be sure you have the CD before doing this step.
