I have a Kodak 5200 all-in-one printer and need to replace ink cartridges and the printhead will not move to the center so I can get access to the cartridges. The directions say just to lift the printer access door and wait for the printerhead to move to the center and then remove the old cartridges but the printer head doesnt move when I open the access door!!
Lift the door then unplug.
Slide your fingers under the cartridge carrier and check for paper debris or other obstructions. If none are found try sliding the cartridges out gently to the middle then replug and see if this resets it. If that doesn't cure the problem unplug again and move the cartridges to the opposite side of the bar as far as it will go then replug.
Now close the lid and wait for a self check. If nothing happens you may have a broken belt.
I have a kodak esp 5200 and just replaced the color cartridge. All you have to do is go to your little panel and go to maintenance. Scroll down to change ink cartridges and it will tell you to open the cover and replace the cartridge. I didn't know how either and just tried a few things. Hope this helps.
Check the printhead carriage area:
