Invalid argument i try to get on app store or anything that uses wifi and i get a message saying invalid argument..help please?! oh and i tried the renew lease button so many times and it doesn't work

Disconnect from your wifi, after go in the appstore. It will say that you haven t a wifi , and you will show you different connections.Take your .

I just finished fixing mine. I did a renew lease procedure
Settings>Network>WiFi>tap your network>scrowl down to Renew lease>Tap Renew Lease. hope it works for you!!

Have you had a software upgrade? I had exactly the same problem with a brand new 3rd gen iTouch and it turned out to be a problem with the itouch and the wifi encryption. Mine showed it was connected to the network but wouldn't access anything (invalid argument etc). I tried everything but no joy. Eventually I fixed it by changing the router's encryption from WEP to WPA2-PSK. Fixed it like magic. Where there had been no router or DNA data before, they were suddenly filled in. The key was different but was still on the bottom of the router. I had to re-enter the key on my wireless laptop but that was a small price.

You can get into the router set-up page through your web browser. I found a guide on You Tube.

I might be able to help you on your case.
When you are connected to the wifi on your ipod touch do the followings
Settings>>wifi>>(you will see a blue arrow next to the wifi signal you are connected) tap on the blue button>>you will see couple of lines full with numbers.
If you see anything full less then 4 line then do these procedures.
After you press the arrow button you will see at the top part saying forget this netwok. Tap on that and then try to re-connect with the wifi.And then do the above procedures.
If it still doesnt solves your problem then this is because of your wifi connection.Try to reset your wifi connection or use another connection. Hope this will help you.

no i have the same problem and i have had my ipod for 3 weeks now and have still had no sucsess on fixing that and it is realy peing me off...

do the followings

if you see the 1st 4 lines full with some number and writings then it is ok or else scroll down and press renew lease or/and try to connect using another network.

Do the following... On your Touch go to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings..... When it starts again got to Settings -> About and check to see if your Wi-Fi Address has been Reset. Hope that helps

This worked for me: Went into SETTINGS > Wi-Fi > Selected my Network (which my iPod said I was already connected to) > Selected "Forget this Network" (which disconnects you from your network) > Re-selected my network and under password, I entered the 'Security Key' from my Verizon FIOS Tech Wizard info and the device accessed the app store successfully.
