Asko 10505 - wash finished, door won't open

Hi -
i can't open the door to the washer, asko 10505. I ran a load, and it's all done washing, but now the door is clicked shut, and I can't figure out how to release it and get the laundry out. can you help?
Thanks

I have this machine as well and it's very erratic as to whether or not it will drain when the cycle has completed.  I have become quite adept at unplugging the pin trap and draining from there but what a pain in the @#$SS.

I have cleaned whatever i can, use detergent sparingly but I can't wonder if the fabric soften is the culprit,  i have gone through two motors and other issues with this machine.  Are all the Askos like this?

My front load washer 10505 will not spin and finish the load. Can't open the door. Removed the panel and turned the plastic thing and water is draining, but there is no hose that I can see and I have totally flooded two towels before giving up. Where is the pin trap?

It is most likely your machine may have a draining problem. if it cant drain the water out the door wont open. if you open the small door at the front bottom of the machine you will find the little black drain hose. unplug the hose off the door and drain machine. when the machine is empty try powering on and opening the door. if still no luck you will see (in the same location) a red pull ring. undo the screw holding the ring in position and gently pull until the door releases. it would be worth undoing the button trap lid to access the pump and check for any blockages (most common coins **** pins etc) let me know how you get on.

More than thirteen years later, this solved the same problem with my Asko W6324 - only difference is that instead of a red pull ring there's a white cap with a bar to twist it off to get at the trap. Pulled out a safety pin, a bobby pin, and an astonishingly oxidized quarter. Thanks!

The unlock button only releases the door if the machine is turned ON. This is contrary to my washer (a Kenmore). I experienced this on my mom's machine

You have to hold the key lock button down for about 5 seconds and the door will pop open.

The unlock button only works if the machine is on; this seems counterintuitive.

W6444 washing machine door won't close

Try some WD40 spray on the door and lock. Just a bit. Try closing and opening the door. The machine should be in the <off> position.

I have an asko 10505 washer. how do you open the door?

here is a video that shows someone closing an Asko machine. I think you just have to get your hand in that place where she shuts the door and pull.

I can't open the door to the washer, asko 10505. I ran a load, and it's all done washing, but now the door is clicked shut, and I can't figure out how to release it and get the laundry out. can you...

After teh program the latch had to disable but possible that the lock got jammed or the end link is not connecting.
Look from the bottom and you can access the lock section to release and get the lock function.
Once it opens use good degreasing spray and then oil then lock as there can be rust or dirt that has got it stuck.
The end program safety link must also work.

The washing machine doesn't open if I use detergent

read the side of the detergent box it normally says how much, and your washer is probably not opening because it has lid lock to open it you need to pause the cycle and wait a few minutes and it will release the lock also if the washeer is spinning or agitating the lid will automatically lock to open do as described above

Asko 10505 washer will not spin

Hi, 2 things to check for. Obstruction in the drain pump or faulty drain pump, brushes in the motor worn out. The easiest way to determine the pump issue is answer this question. Does it drain ? Next, turn the timer to the drain/spin cycle, obviously it should drain & spin and advance to "off". The next thing with these 10505 asko is to see if the drum rotates in both directions in the wash/agitate portion of the cycle. You can just select the short wash for this (I forget if it's #4 or #5) If not, it's worn brushes. However, you'll have to make sure the armature isn't damaged before simply installimg new brushes. We can cross that bridge when we get there. Let me know. Hope that helps, though those are just the most common problems there could be others. Good Luck

Leaking inlet valve on Asko 10505

Unfortunately, the only way to be 100% sure this won't happen again is to replace the inlet water valve. Especially if the problem is intermittent. You could live with it if you turn off your water taps when the machine is not in use.
