The solution is as such, first log into your router by typing the routers IP (192.168.2.1) into your browser.

The first thing you want to do is set UPnP to be enabled.

Forget about the 88 UDP thing, it's bogus.

Just set the TCP and the UDP to 3074 in virtual server.

I swear to god it will work.

Sorry to know you are experiencing this issue - All you need to do is open ports, 53 ( TCP/UDP)and 3074 ( TCP/UDP) and then place the computer on DMZ. After placing the computer on DMZ enter the same ip address on XBOX manually - powercycle you xbox and will certainly work - still unable disable firewall on router

Guys I have been on the phone with support at belkin forever now... you will not get a solution they will eventually replace it thinking its faulty when in fact the fault is in the design... even if you go into setup and place the ip address in DMZ (which is another way of saying "outside of the NAT" you will still get errors when playing FFXI, xbox chat, video streaming, or any vpn connection) I had a linksys and didnt have any issues either.
by the way belkin's number is 800-223-5546 im bringing mine back to exchange it but maybe if enough people complain they will do something about the firmware

I think that the only way to have a good gaming experience is getting another router, not that expensive. It may work, but how wel does it work. The constant problems make gaming annoying and pointless. I used to use a lynksys router and absolutley no problems with xbox wireless hub.

I have just bought a Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO Router and have got a disk but the problem is can i8 get on xbox live or do i need a modem aswell or is it modem and router together

you have to ring belkin and they will talk you through opening the releveant ports to access x box live. If you dont have a microsoft wireless adaptor (which they say you need) you can use a hard wired connection from another computer by creating a network bridge. either way you have to open the ports on your router.

I have a belkin n modem router and it keeps kicking the xbox off line. is it the xbox live or my new router

it is the problem with router....the firewall built-in in the router will not allow certain gaming devices to go online...for this purpose you need to forward certain ports in the belkin router...for the list of port numbers to be forwarded, contact xbox vendor....once you got those port numbers, you can call 24x7 toll free belkin tech support(1800-2-235546)(1800-2-belkin) and ask them to assist u to forward ports... or you can can connect a computer to one of the wired ports(1 to 4) and open internet explorer and type 192.168.2.1 in address bar and hit "enter key". you ll see belkin router setup page...on the left side you ll find "virtual servers"...open that link(if it asks password, leave it blank and click submit) fill the IP address of your xbox in that form and type the port numbers and select appropriate (tcp/udp)... also click on"firewall" in left and disable it.... also click on DMZ in left and type your xbox ip address there and enable it... thats it.... you are done with that...

I'm trying too get connected to xbox live but it's

This mainly depends on your internet modem, I use linksys when I play xbox live. Also I use wireless adapter, sometimes an ethernet cable as well to plug straight from my xbox to my modem. Make sure your modem is connected to the internet, and that if your xbox has a signal, or properly connected to it.
Hope this helps a little. Good Luck!

Xbox Live Can't Connect to Friends

Hi akemccarthy

you may need to open the ports for the linksys Router aswell
because the linksys links the belkin to the internet there using a shared connection

once youve fowarded the ports properly check to see if you have enabled the UPNP on both of the routers if they have any

heres a website showing how to port forward the ports you need opening

Belkin F5D9230-4 router with xbox live

I was having troubles with a belkin router as well. i called belkin tech support and they never helped as they would not accept that the router was the problem. i found i could connect the xbox directly to a modem and it would work fine but when i connected it through the router it would always disconnect from games or not allow me to join a game, only host them, with no one else joining. no matter if i forwarded the appropriate ports, put the specific ip address into the dmz or even turn upnp on (i've tried different combos of each, all on at same time, to even setting up manually) and nothing would change. I found that the router had an option to turn off NAT which belkin told me would render the router useless.  I decided to go against them, turned it off and set the ip and dns to go with the modem. Now everything works fine as the router just acts as an expensive multi plug and wireless system. all the computers in the house can connect to the internet at the same time and access eachothers hard drives and i can access xbox live fine with no problems. there is also no lag when playing gtaIV multiplayer with 15 other players.  i hate belkin tech support and i will not pay for another expensive multi plug connector from belkin... ever.
