Hi,I f you are experimenting vertical lines, white spots color distortion or pixelation it will be an issue with the DMD board. This is how the dmd works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically it's composed of around 2 million pixels that creates the images and colors. In this case you will need to replace it.You can try to find it in placed like Discount-merchant.com partstore.com or shopjimmy.com Have a blessed one!

So I have a 50 Lg ( LG 50LN5700). There is still a picture however about every 3 seconds it goes from regular to blurry and repeats. There seem to be about 3 black lines across the top horizontally about 3...

To clarify, are the 3 black lines horizontal (left to right across entire width of screen)? or are the 3 black lines vertical (top to bottom across entire height of screen)?

Horizontal lines are almost always the result of a failed panel, and no board replacement will fix the issue.

Vertical lines such as you have described (only 3) are probably also a bad panel. If the black lines were evenly spaced in a repeating pattern, it could be a mainboard or TCONN board.

Has this panel been cracked? or perhaps cleaned recently with too much water or cleaning solvent that has gotten the screen wet?

You may have to sell the TV for parts.

RCA CRT TV thin white horizontal lines

Look for bad capacitors in the vertical deflection amp, and in the pin amp sections. This is common on most of these types of TV sets.

The caps tend to go high in ESR with age. It is best to use an ESR meter to find the bad caps. It will be a lot faster than workign out waveforms with a scope.

Wikipedia explanation about capacitor ESR:

Horizontal 'pinstripe' lines on all channels

sound like the screen control on the flyback is set just a little too high. the flyback has the red wire attached to the tube. the flyback has 2 small adjustable controls. if you look close enough 1 is marked focus & on is screen. turn the screen slightly to the left & look at your picture. the screen is like a master brightness & if it's up too high you will see what is called retrace lines. good luck.
