We have 2 Sharp xr-11xc dlp projectors in house. I have just replaced both units' bulbs and reset their ''bulb life'' timers. When I turn them on now, they seem to take several minutes before the bulb starts coming on. Once they come on, they work great. After you shut them down and they cool off, the next time you push the ON button, they may immediately light up or you may have to wait 5 or 10 minutes before they start up again. I have check the color wheels and they are both spinning fine, even when initially the bulbs are not coming on. I have not checked the ballast/power supply voltage yet (don't have a meter that can hit that high of a voltage!) Any clues?

The problem is: Bulbs wear out. Especially projector bulbs. The operate at high temperature and the filaments break down in time. When they are intermittent (on/off) the filament expands and contracts, and at some point disconnect entirely. It is time to replace the lamp with a new one.
the colorwheel may be bad. if it doesn't spin, the lamp won't strike. if the colorwheel is ok, replace the power supply/ballast. you can get one and do it yourself, or send it to a sharp service center. either way, try www.avsolutionsny.com. they're really good.
Hi, You can download user manual of Sharp XR-11XC from HERE for free as website will ask you any of your email address only. User manual has all info about this unit.
You may have to reset the Bulb Life Timer. When the power is turned on, you simultaneously press the "right arrow", the "down arrow" and the "menu" buttons, then press the "standby/on" button, it should zero out the Bulb Life Timer and it should come on.
