No aerial/poor connection to the aerial will cause the PT to burn up taking the 2A fuse out. If there is no fuse you will have the added delight of repairing the burnt pcboard inside as well as a new power transistor.
Usually the first thing to suffer is the cam shafts and lifters, followed by the pistons, rings and then the con rod bearings. The cams can also destroy the cam bearing surfaces, requiring a new head. If the noise stopped when new oil was put in , damage may be minimal, but will have effected total engine life
There is either a video driver/output fault, (found on the pcboard that the tube plugs on to and is usually an IC) or you have a short circuit grid to cathode on the red tube. Replacing the IC is no problem but to replace the tube means a lot of work and money. If it is the tube and the TV is getting on a bit, time for a replacement? The cost of a decent LCD screen will be less than the repair cost with a tube.
Hello Fred. Most likely your batteries need to be replaced. However, there is also the possibility that the charging system itself is bad. Therefore, my route would be to take your camera to a camera shop and let them take a look. If they put in new batteries and this does not solve the problem, you will not be out the cost of the batteries. And, they most likely can put your camera on a scanner which will tell them the status of your charging system.
Check around the pcboard where the dc goes to the board, sometimes the foil will burn. Also chec the transformer, Chec that one of the wires did not come off the plug in the back. When you replaced the protection diode did it blow again? If not keep checking for opens on the pc board. When you said it was dead do you mean no lights at all or no tx and rx?
I've done about 100 CD transports so far. Try changing any belts in the unit. On some CD players ,if the open/close belt is bad, it wont allow the CD to be read either. Also,VERY lightly cleaning the laser lens and dusting the unit out helps too.
The burn in can't be fixed cheaply. You would have to replace the burnt crt guns. The screen can be removed for cleaning.behind the speaker grill are several screws right below the screen.Remove them and slide the whole screen assembly upward.
