Static Ips are the ones that you yourself will define in your every computer in your network. Also, you need to configure your router to use static IP. So, 2 things to remember.
Setting your router for Static IP.
- Open your router web interface at http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 (depending on your router model)
- Disable the DHCP server by un-checking this DHCP option.
- Save your changed settings.
Configuring Static IP of computers.(This applies to MS Windows XP only)
- Click Start => Settings => Network Connections
- Right click on your LAN Connection and click "Properties".
- On the General Tab, scroll down to TCP/IP, Click on it to select and click the "Properties" button.
- Make sure that you ticked the option button: "Use the following IP Address" and you need to define the IP.
