DIshwasher stopped during wash and won't run or drain.

We have a roll around (not built in) Kenmore dishwasher. We hooked it up, tuned it on and it started to fill as ususal and then it stopped. The "cancel/drain" button doesn't do anything. Power is going to the machine, the lights on the buttons light up when pushed, but nothing happens. No motor buzzing or other noises. Just nothing.

Sounds like a drain motor startup capacitor, or stuck pump. Try disconnecting power and turn the water pump manually. Some disassembly required. Then after a few good hand spins replug and try again.

Motor keeps running. Water heats fine. Help

One of the reasons for motor not draining during normal cycle is the check valve is stuck. It is meant to return to normal during drain cycle but close during wash. I think the cancel is resetting it and letting water out.

Some water is leaking under the dishwasher and on the kitchen floor during the end of the wash cycle.

Does it leak during pump-out only?
If so , must be drain hose .To see everything, remove kick plate to isolate leak. Check hose connections. Fill and drain and observe.Or run a whole cycle with kick plate off to find leak.

Good luck

Hi we have a Kenmore Dishwasher Model # 13744K and it won't turn on. It has water in the bottom that won't drain. Please advise. Thanks. John Webster.

For a dishwasher that was rated pretty high by Consumer Reports, it does not clean very well. In addition, the plastic control button cracked in less than a year and I must constantly clean around the inside of the door ... and I never received my rebate.
Despite those issues, it has been a workhorse. My wife is a daycare provider and the machine is used twice a day (on average) and still runs well. On a monthly basis, I alternate a pint of lemon juice and a pint of vinegar to keep it clean and once per year I use a granulated dishwasher cleaner.

My kenmore washing machine fills with water but will not wash..it sounds like its doing something then it stops after a while i hear it drain and then stops again..water doesnt spray..I let the dishwasher...

Often these work by reversing the motor which has two pump impellers. One direction will pump the water out and the other will pump it through the spray bar. IF the one pump impeller has broken then that would explain your symptoms.

If this is the type you have, verify that the motor is running reversed from when it is draining. If it is not running during wash time, then the timer is probably at fault. If it is running, check for broken pump impeller for the was direction.

Kitchenaid dishwashes makes wining noise during wash

It sounds as if there is something in the bottom part of the dishwasher arm (it sprays the water around the bottom of the dishwasher). I would suggest that you take out the baskets and then remove and clean all of the parts that water comes out of as well as the bottom drain. If this works or does not, I would also suggest that you run an empty load using 1/4 cup vinegar. Hope this helps!

Dishwasher was making whirliing noise during wash, now no wash, only fill and drain

there is a #10 torx screw holding that cover down.do not drill it out. after you take it off you can tell if the chopper is broken.be careful for broken glass.

Dishwasher does not want to drain

Make sure that the draining-hose is clean .... Try to put the draining-hose downwards .... it is possible that the pomp can not push the water high enough .... if the hose runs downwards ... gravity will help !

Kenmore dishwasher (older model)

It could be a firm clog in the exit hose but you should be able to hear the pump running during the last portion of the wash & rinse cycles.
If you don't, then the pump has likely failed.
