Where the contacts attach to the drip tray on the inside is where I had some coffee ground "sludge". It was making a weak electrical connection between the two contacts. As soon as I took a fine scrubber sponge to get rid of the build up - the Empty Tray message went away when I put the tray back in.

Called Jura service and was given these steps: 1) was contact tips with very cold water and dry 2) insert Q-Tip into contact slots, where tray contact tips go in, and clean them. 3) insert tray by lifting it up slightly and "shoving it in". Well, it worked!!

I kept getting this message. We would clean what we could find and it would work for a few cups but kept coming back. I used a toothbrush and a little barkeepers friend. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE HINT!

Empty Tray, Missing Tray game: Cool down the contacts on the tray with cold water, then put it in wet and wait a few seconds for the sensors to cool down. .

Impressa Jura J6 stays in empty tray mode

On my machine - J6 Capresso, the problem was caused by a crack on one side of the grounds scraper, a plastic paddle attached to the side of the brew group. The scraper is supposed to detect when the tray is full by not returning to the normal position and triggering a sensor that detects that the tray was emptied. When one side was cracked, the scraper was too weak to trigger the sensor. I replaced the scraper ($20 part), and that fixed the problem.

MY Coffee machine continues to say "Empty Tray". I

try taking the tray out and leaving it out for like 2 hours with the machine still in the on position. mine has done this before, when i reinsert the tray it will go back to select coffee on the menu. FYI - there is like a built in timer for the tray removal - I believe it will tell you what the timing is in the booklet - howver it works best to do what is stated above.

Reads "empty tray". Tray is empty, clean, and dry. We have tried unplugging machine and resetting, The machine has not worked in 3 days.

The tray may have some redidual soiling around the electrical contacts at the back.

Try cleaning the contacts and see what happens.

My Jura Impressa xs90 keeps stating fill system, even after filling the system several times for the last 3 days.

Empty the Water tank and fill it with warm water. Then keep trying for some time and the problem will get solved.

Machine says malfunction and won't froth milk

If you have a rotarywheel; Press and hold to enter the menu, turn to Maintenance, select Decalcify unit; empty tray as requested, fill up 600ml water in a container. Disolve 3 Descaling tablets in the water, and then fill it in the watertank. Press Maintenance button and you`re off.

If you don`t have a Rotary; Turn off the machine and let it cool down for a while, then push the Rinse/Maintenance button for a few seconds; then you will get the message Empty tray. Fill the solution in the watertank and press button.

It`s important that you use the right amount of water, or else the process will "never" finish.
