I just bought a Lexmark X4530 wireless printer. I

Check "Set as default printer" setting. Log off your user one time and restart the printer. Make sure Bluetooth of your Laptop is turned on.

Did you define the printers and printer ports to the laptops?


On the XP laptop go to network connections in the control panel and use the network setup wizard.

If you have the Lexmark software installed, you should be able to select the print quality through that most packages offer a choice of print density (dot per inch) and/or 'Draft,' 'Normal,' 'High' qualities whereby you can trade off quality for economy. Variations in paper quality can also have a huge influence on the contrast and color saturation.

download the installation software from lexmark. You will need to connect it to the computer via a USB cable to run the setup. Just follow the prompts and it will set up the printer on your wireless network. You will run this same software on each additional computer that you want to print to this printer.

There is not on lexmark's site about a firmware update to fix this

This happens from time to time. I have bought new 22 & 23 cartridges for my Lex. x3350 before with "flawed" contacts. Either return it for refund or buy a new one. Thw next working one you get, try re filling it. I get mine refilled at Walgreens. Cost for me in Texas is $10 for black and 15 for color. I refill them 4 times before I replace with new. Saved me a ton of money.

You must upgrade your firmware on your printer.

If you brought new cartridges and printer detecting it empty ,then you get it
replaced as the Lexmark cartridges comes with a 6 months warranty ..
