The problem is: I have a Grand Cherokee Ltd '08 and a Sirius REN radio. Suddenly all music/pictures was unavailable. Radio and CD works fine but I cannot communicate in any way to the hard-drive. If I put in USB key - it blinks but no data or connectivity to hard disk. If I look up my data it shows: Capacity Used Available 0.000GB 0.000GB ------- Application version 8.400 Grace notes N/A (init) Serial T00BE219709598 System 6825 006 3.3 ---------------- What I have done trying to fix this is: 1. Unplugged the battery from the car -> no change 2. A radio service tried to put in a new hard drive -> no change -> old disk replaced 3. My local JEEP dealer connected the car with their computer -> no error codes from the radio 4. Unplugged IOD fuse - > no change 5. Tried to update to version 9.113 and 9.292 -> installed normally -> rebooted -> no change.

Get the HARD-DISK completely reformatted by the service center.then check out.most probably the space is got completed so its showing Capacity Used Available 0.000GB 0.000GB .so reformatting will clean out if any of the error is got occurred in the hard disk.or the other possibility is the hardware problem.the problem in the main circuit board of the unit.its got hanged on stand-by mode.but changing the version should help if its got hanged on stand-by mode.but nothing changed that means the board is got corrupted in the unit.either the board or the unit needs replacement.
then check out.keep updated.thanks.

Mech Comm Error

sounds like they may have forgotten to take out transit plugs from radio which holds cd mechanism in place when shipping unless you got a new radio thats a dud? but that may also mean dealer didnt check operation of new unit after replacement if replaced which is what usually needs to be done when this error message comes up

1995 Jeep Cherokee Radio replacement

Most of the New Aftermarket Stereo's now have the Connections for Sirius and XM Built in so you just need the Sat. Install Box. Really Simple. If you want to go a Cheaper Route Just Purchase the XM or Sirius Reciever and Mounting kit for the Dash or Windshield and It will play through an Empty FM Station on the Radio Via the FM Transmitter. Got one in all of my Vehicles and they work Great!
