I have a new Olympus voice recorder WS-852 to replace Olympus VN-702PC, and another I used prior to that, and I cannot hear my recordings once transferred to my computer, to be able to transcribe.

• Windows: The voice recorder is recognized and displayed in the [My Computer] folder with the model name as the drive name. If there is a microSD card in the voice recorder, it can be used as the [Removable Disk].• Macintosh: The voice recorder is recognized and displayed on the desktop with the model name as the drive name. If there is a microSD card in the voice recorder, [NO NAME] is displayed. • For information on the PC's USB port, see the PC's user manual. • Use the optional USB extension cable (KP19) if needed

I made a BIG mistake with a RP5120 RCA Digital Voice Recorder

If you remember what file name was given to that file, then use Windows Search option and locate that file any where in computer.
Please don't mention file extension, just put file name in search box.
Hope this trick will work.

Download device

The easiest way to correct that is to uninstall and reinstall the DSS player software. Before you go so far though, open DSS Player and go to Tools then Options and make sure the Auto download option is checked. If the option is checked but not working just uninstall and reinstall to reset the drive associations.

Help

sorry it sounds like the folder may be lost forever.once you pressed the record button, the recorder knew it as a new recording in that folder.look at it like a answering machine going out message. if you made a mistake, and you wanted to record a new message, the old message would be erased.if your folder was on a cassette recorder, you would have only erased those few seconds.
sorry
