Error - 5100 and 6A00 keep appearing. What should I do?

Error 5100 means an error occurred in the carriage encoder signal. Error 6A00 means an error occurred in the AP motor during purging operation. To fix these two errors you need to replace:
- Carriage unit (QM2-2922)

- Timing **** strip film (QC1-6394)

- Logic board ***'y (QM2-3078)

Before replacement of the logic board ***'y, check the waste ink amount (by service test print or EEPROM

information print). If the waste ink amount is 7% or more, also replace the ink absorber kit (QY5-0146) when
replacing the logic board ***'y.

- Carriage motor (QK1-1500)

-Sheet feed unit (QM2-2916)
-Purge unit (QM2-2925)

Whenever I start to print or copy, it says error code 1500 on my MX700 Canon...It is not quite a year old.

I don't see an error 1500 for your machine, but error 5100 says that either the carriage is being blocked from moving back and forth properly, or there is grease on the encoder strip. Look on the plastic strip that runs behind the carriage assembly for any grease spots and wipe gently with a Q-tip if there are grease spots on it. Beyond that, you have warranty for a full year and can call Canon at 1-800-828-4040 to find the nearest shop.

I keep geting Service Error 1500 when trying to print

I don't see an error 1500, error 5100 though means the carriage can't move right and left or there is grease on the encoder strip behind the carriage. The grease you can clean with a Q-tip, and also make sure there is no paper scraps on the right or left side of the machine...
